On May 19, 2015, at around 12:35 am (KST), the group was involved in a serious car collision while returning to their hotel after a concert in Anaheim,the members were preparing for a upcoming New Jersey concert as part of their MADE world tour

The group's manager, Mr. Park, was driving the tour bus and had been speeding, driving 137 km/h (85 mph) in a 100 km/h (62 mph) zone for a distance of 30 km (19 mi).[33]

Rainy conditions made the road slippery, which caused Park to suddenly lose control of the vehicle, causing the group's van to hydroplane and skid several times before crashing into a protective guardrail in the vicinity of the California State Route 91 Expressway.[34][35]

Rapper G-Dragon was declared dead on arrival by the time the paramedics reached Anaheim medical centre, while the remaining six passengers were rushed to various hospitals.[36][37]

Taeyang, who suffered the most serious injuries, were taken to the Anaheim medical centre in orange county, listed under critical condition. Despite best efforts,Taeyang's condition quickly deteriorated
