Celestia's sun rose into the beautiful Equestrian sky to start out a new day in in a small town called Ponyville and Ponyville had always looked beautiful and magnificent in the golden sunlight of the sun and Sweet Apple Acres, just southwest of Ponyville, was no exception, with the sunlight reflecting off the apple trees that had surrounded the farm. As Celestia's sun had started to rise higher into the sky, some of the radiant sunbeams had found it's way into a bedroom, this bedroom however, was not empty, no, this bedroom had two sleeping mare's in the bed. One, a common earth pony, had a bright orange coat, had three apple's on her flank, her long blonde mane in front of her face as her hooves were wrapped around the mare who was lying with her, the mare she was sleeping with was a pegasus, had three butterflies on her flank, had a bright yellow coat, her cherry blossom mane, was just under the farm pony's chin. The orange farm pony's eyes had started to open slowly as they started adjusting to the early morning light while the mare had let out a wide yawn. The mare had sat up from the bed and looked to the yellow mare who was laying next to her. The orange mare smiled, taking one of her hooves and running it through the soft silkiness of the yellow mare's pink mane, leaning over to kiss the yellow forehead. "Morning, Shy", the orange mare said softly, still stroking the pink lemonade mane with her hoove. Fluttershy's eyes opened slowly and beamed to the farm pony, slowly stretching her wings in the process. "Morning, Applejack", Fluttershy cooed, sitting up in the bed to look at the mare she loved.  Fluttershy and Applejack have been dating for 5 years, but to the mare's, it feels like yesterday that Fluttershy had confessed to Applejack, and it was the best day of their life's. Sure, Applejack at first had told Fluttershy to let her think about it, but when Applejack thought how much Fluttershy was always there for her, even if it was taking time from Fluttershy's schedule and how much the farm pony thought that the pegasus was the most beautiful mare she has ever met; even more beautiful than Rarity herself, Applejack knew that she was willing to go one step further with their friendship. Actually, Applejack still feels this way and it all started about 2 months ago. Applejack had wanted to propose to the mare she loved. She had bought a pair of engagement earrings done up with their cutie marks and had told the rest of the Apple Family, including her big brother, Big Mac, her younger sister, Apple Bloom, and her grandma, Granny Smith. The whole family had supported Applejack with the whole plan which the farm pony knew they would, but Applejack still has not told the rest of her friends because she had wanted their engagement to be a surprise. But Applejack knew today was the day that she would pop the question to the butter-colored pegasus. Applejack climbed out of the bed and grabbed her signature hat off of the nightstand along with her red hairties and put them in her hair, then she put her hat on her head and walked over to her marefriend
who had just finished brushing her hair from the brush on her nightstand. Fluttershy beamed brightly at her marefriend and Applejack had smiled back. "Breakfast?", Applejack asked. Fluttershy gave a small tender nod and started walking towards the door. "Wait a minute", the pegasus stopped in her tracks and turned to face her marefriend. "What?", Fluttershy asked softly, thinking she did something wrong. "Aren't you forgetting something, sugar cube?", Applejack asked, smirking. Fluttershy gave a confused look in response to Applejack's question. "Which is..?", Fluttershy asked slowly. "This..", Applejack said, stepping in front of the pegasus and pushing her lips to Fluttershy's. Fluttershy has surprised at first but had returned the kiss with passion. After about a couple seconds, they both had pulled back for air, both blushing. Then they both had went down the stairs to find that the house was surprisingly empty except for Granny Smith sitting in her rocking chair. Big Mac must have already left to do his chores, and Apple Bloom had school. Applejack and Fluttershy had went into the kitchen to start making some porridge. Both of the mares had loved to help eachother, whether it be for big or small tasks. Once the two bowls of porridge were done, the two mares had sat down that the table to eat. They both ate in silence when Applejack took it upon herself to brake the silence. "So, butterfly, I was thinking that today, maybe we can go on a picnic date", Applejack said, still munching on her porridge. Fluttershy beamed brightly. "That sounds fun, but what about your chores?"
"I'm sure Big Mac's got it covered", Applejack said, hoping that the pegasus would agree to the picnic. Fluttershy seemed to have thinked for a moment. Eventually, Fluttershy smiled. "Of course I'll come, but first I have to go check up on the animals and feed them first...if thats ok.", Fluttershy said softly. Applejack managed a chuckle at that. "If course it's fine, sugarcube. While your gone, I'll pack the picnic basket.", Applejack said, smiling. After they were both done with their breakfast, Fluttershy kissed her marefriend goodbye to go to her cottage and check on her animals. The instent the pegasus left, Applejack had started to pack the picnic basket with 2 daisy sandwiches, hay fries, and 2 apple ciders. Applejack had told Fluttershy where to meet before she left and before she left, she slid the black box containing the engagement earrings in the basket.
