Walking beside Liu Kang through the bustling bazaar of Sun Do, your gaze was drawn to him, captivated by how he lively gestured during your deep conversation. The vibrant market was alive with the sounds of vendors calling out their wares and the rich aroma of spices wafting through the air, creating a colorful backdrop for your shared experience. As you continued to navigate the narrow pathways lined with stalls, Liu Kang's strides suddenly slowed to a halt.
He turned his attention to a nearby stall, where intricately crafted jewelry glistened under the warm sunlight. His eyes settled on a stunning jade bracelet, its rich green hues catching the light in a way that felt almost magical. With a gentle smile illuminating his features, he picked up the bracelet, holding it aloft as if to appreciate its beauty before turning to face you. The warmth of his smile seemed to radiate as he awaited your reaction, making the moment feel even more special amidst the lively chaos of the bazaar.
"Y/n, jade. Your favorite." Of course, the fire god would know your favorite things, with his vast knowledge of almost everything.Gently picking up your wrist, holding it up as his slim fingers gently brushed against your skin. Dressed the jade bracelet around your wrist.
"Always the need to think of me, have you liu?" You jeered playfully, a smile plastered on your face as your eyes wandered into his own. His glowing white eyes gazing into yours.
"It is most natural to think of one's friends." The glowing iris's that stared into your eyes, darted their attention back to your wrist. "You do have the most fascinating taste in jewelry." A small chuckle rolled off his lips, even though his expressions most of the time were mostly unreadable, you could tell he genuinely meant what he said.
A small laugh escaped your lips as you replied, "I'd like to think so too, Liu." The conversation between you two fell into a comfortable silence.
Dispersing from the stalls you both once stood, back into the pathways of the sun do. The loud sounds of conversing and music blaring out from behind both of you, slowly faded away as the two continued to walk further away. You hooked your arm through his own. Liu glanced over to you quickly before returning his attention onward. Gazing up at the sky, which was polluted by the light. Hardly letting you see the pitch black void above everyone's heads. To which you snapped out of that gaze when more crowds of people began to walk past you. Faster than others while some children ran past them excitedly."Liu, it's almost time for the firework show. let's save a spot before it gets packed." Breaking the silence between you two, your body filled with excitement. "I don't want to miss it, let's go!" A gleeful smile tugged at your lips as you both hurriedly wandered down into a grass field next to millions and hundreds of people.
"Woah, y/n. Quite excited are we?" A loud, firm but playful chuckle sounded through your ears. Walking in front of Liu Kang hurriedly as you impatiently dragged him along with you. He found his pace with you and sat down after making it to the grassy field. crossing your legs over each other as you sat on the ground. Your shoulders both practically touching each other, you couldn't help but flush at the closeness. Your cheeks tinting a bright crimson. Hugging your knees close to your chest. your eyes scanned everyone surrounding you.
Everyone was either a big family, or some couples sitting next to each other. You found yourself lost in the appearances of the couples. Yearning to have the same person to share the affection with. A small smile plastered on your face as you turned your head back to the ground.
"Are you feeling alright, y/n?" Instantly shattering your thoughts, you turned your head to meet liu kang. His glowing eyes a slight contrast to the slight darkness in the field
"Yeah, of course. I'm fine, just— thinking." Turning your head at the sky, waiting any minute for the fireworks to start.
"I'd hope so, y/n" replying in a playful manner, causing you to chuckle slightly. A shiver ran down your spine as the cold had just now made your body notice it. Hugging your knees tighter, hoping the chill would go away. Keeping your gaze forward and up at the sky. The first firework began, a loud sound shrieking in the air as it whirled around. You jumped slightly at the sudden noise, but quickly recovered your composure as you watched in awe. A sudden loud popping noise to be heard as the spontaneous light flung around all in different colors. Suddenly a whole eruption came of them. filling the surrounding above you, scanning them all as you watched in amazement. Looking over at liu kang, you couldn't help but smile. To which, he gladly returned.
