never letting you go

walking up to the door of your apartment exhausted after work, all you wanted to do was lay down and forget today ever happened your boss had made you work overtime to fix some mistakes new interns had made.
stopping at the door you start reaching for your keys that had been engulfed by the black hole of your small bag somehow, pushing past the folders and loose pens you had lazily thrown in your bag after finishing your work
after a few seconds you finally pull the keychain out of your bag the three other keys rattling together as you insert the key into the keyhole of your apartment door unlocking it and opening the door to your small apartment, lightly filled with the scent of citrus
"I'm home" you say as your tired voice echos off the wall in your silent apartment
setting your bag down by the door and dropping your phone down onto the wooden table that was sitting next to the door
"Jaemin?" you say again slipping off your shoes and shuffling forward your words still echoing off of the walls in the small hallway
opening the thin dark wooden door to your living area
you survey the room scanning your eyes from your marble kitchen counter to the off-white plush couch looking for your boyfriend
are you kidding me Jaemin is this a joke?
you think to yourself still irritated from work
on days like this when work is tough the first thing you think of to keep you going is Jaemin, you could never get mad at him because he never got mad at you even at times when you were being unreasonable he always knew how to cheer you up
as you're walking through your apartment making your way to the bedroom door, to your left you spot a white slip of paper on the marble counter reading
'make sure to eat something when you get home from work >:('
the cute note presumably left by Jaemin snuck a smile onto your face without you even realizing it
setting the note back down on the counter turning to head towards the bedroom door, you set your hand on the door handle slowly turning it and quietly pushing the door open as to not wake up Jaemin who you could only assume was sleeping
sprawled across the queen sized bed in the middle of the room Jaemin laid half covered by the soft grey blanket that he had kicked around in his sleep
at this point dragging yourself to your dresser on top of which the lit citrus candle you had bought Jaemin for his last birthday again another smile crept onto your face as you pulled your pajamas out of the top drawer of the dresser

after washing up and getting changed in the bathroom connected to your room you flick off the light and open the door to see Jaemin sitting up still half asleep on the bed, his eyes lock onto you a small smile grew on his face as you walk towards the bed flopping over onto your side of the bed sinking into the soft grey blanket
"are you alright my love?" Jaemin asks scooting himself closer to you on the bed his hand resting on your lower back rubbing in light circle motions across your entire back
"yeah i guess... just a long day at work, my boss made me stay overtime to fix mistakes new hires made on paperwork over the past few days" you say groaning your body tensing up just thinking about it
"did you eat anything today?" he says rolling you over to rest your head and neck on his legs so he could play with your hair while he talked with you about your day
"I ate some of the lunch you packed me but then I got called into a meeting" you said looking up at his face the moonlight from the window behind the headboard softly illuminating the features on his face his soft gaze and the smile on his face made you feel warm inside
"that's not enough, you really-" he said still running his fingers through your hair
"i knowwww" you said cutting him off closing your eyes and scrunching your face up in annoyance
"you're so cute" he whispered leaning down closer to your face now only centimeters away from one another
"do you want me to cook you something right now?" he asks
"hmmm no i just wanna hold onto you right now" you whisper back closing your eyes hoping he'll take the hint and give you a kiss
he chuckles as you close your eyes causing you to feel butterflies in your stomach, he finally closes the distance between the two of you landing his soft lips onto yours as he puts his hand on your cheek deepening the kiss further
he pulls away sitting back up "do you want to cuddle now" he says softly still gazing into your eyes as if he wants to go back in for another kiss
you sit up allowing him to move out from under you back to his spot on the bed as you adjust yourself back into yours lying with your back to Jaemin
you can feel his arm snake around your waist pulling you close your back touching his chest as he intertwines his fingers with yours leaving him almost completely engulfing you
his legs also tangled around yours and his chin resting on the top of your head
"jaemin isn't this a little much" you say jokingly trying your best to fight back although you're too tired to even try and escape his grip
hmmmm he hums in response you can feel the vibration from his now low voice on the back of your head
"I'm never letting you go" he says triumphantly in his low tone letting out a few giggles along with it
after a few moments of quiet he starts to drag his thumb across the back of your hand until you completely drift of into sleep him following soon after
