Chapter One

No one expects a portal to pop up out of nowhere and drag them into another world, especially not a cat named Sunny. Sunny led a relatively normal life. He spent time with friends and family, explored, and roamed his neighborhood. However, all of that changed on a particular day.

Sunny decided to play hide and seek with his friend Umo. He went to find a hiding place down the old dirt path that led to the forest. His orange fur shimmered in the dappled light under the trees. "There are sure to be some nice bushes to hide in," Sunny thought. And he found the perfect bush, nice and dense. He stepped to the back of the bush, away from the dirt path. But when he did, he was met with a colorful swirly thing in front of him.

People often say, "Curiosity killed the cat." But in this case, it didn't. Well, it almost did.

 Sunny reached his paw out to the strange thing in front of him. As a flicker of light brushed his paw, his surroundings blurred into a flurry of light and colors and then blue, like the sky. To Sunny's surprise, it was the sky, and he was in the air, falling.
