i sat on my bed staring at the ceiling, listening to music. i listened and let the lyrics and the beat sink into my brain.

as the song started to play, a familiar boys face popped into my mind. the chocolate brown hair and blue-green eyes that i just couldn't stop thinking of... i spent most of my time this week texting or calling him or playing video games with him.

i sat up and looked at the doorway... only to find that i wasn't imagining toby's voice singing along....

i felt hot as my face flushed a deep red color. i was singing a song thinking about my crush as i sang, with my crush. oh my gods... kate you're such an idiot! what if he knows? my brain yelled at me. i stood there frozen for a few seconds.

"oh my gods! toby! hi! i- uh- yo- umm.. sorry you had to, er... walk in on me singing. that was so embarrasing." i stumbled over my words. my brain started working again so i went oven and gave toby a hug.

he hugged me back "you don't have to be embarrassed! you have such a good singing voice, much better than mine!" he said pulling away.

"uh no, i'm gonna stop you right there. i've listened to life by the sea, i know you can sing bee boy."
