The Mystery Guy

Recap :

The footsteps started getting louder and faster until I stopped and turned around.

Nothing.

I looked in front of me to see mystery guy.

I jumped back and fell as I was taken by suprise.

"Nice to see you again Mute."

I stood there paralyzed. My mouth was dry and I felt my heart speed up in an unhealthy manner.

I did think about that night in the ally but I did try to forget it. But now that my grey eyed mystery guy was staring me straight in the eye. Everything that happened that night came back in full force. It felt like a punch in the gut.

I wanted to scream but nothing came out. I just stood there not believing my eyes.

"Is that the thanks I get for saving your life ?" He said in fake hurt. But in all honesty he looked more amused than hurt.

"I - I - I " I stuttered still in a phase of shock.

"Don't worry about it it's what I do. So. Why are you walking home alone at night? You still haven't learned your lesson from last time huh."

At that sentence I came out of my shock and put my head down, embarrassed.

"I w-was just walking home. N- no big deal. " I tried to remain calm but I can slowly feel myself having a mini panic attack.

"Yeah. Sure. You need to stop 'walking home alone' at night. It's not safe." He looked completely serious.

His sudden change of mood surprise me and I took a step back.

When he noticed my action, he shook his head and gave me a little smirk.

Then it clicked. I am talking to a complete stranger at night. The same one who saved me in a dark alley from some creature.

"Listen. I - I don't know you. And I don't want to talk to a s- stranger so. P-p-please leave me alone."

I turned away and started walking in the direction that my house was.

The walk to my house was silent and unnerving. I have never fully analyzed the events from yesterday but now that I have I am even more lost. This has to be a joke.

Donna and Ruby have now taken practical jokes to the next level.

When I got home it was really quiet. I walked to the living room to see police tape everywhere.

But there was food on the table. Which I assumed was last night's leftovers.

I walked to the kitchen slowly, not sure what was going on.

Ruby was sitting on a bat stool next to the island while Donna was looking in the fridge both of their backs turned to me. There was broken glass and drops of blood everywhere on the floor but they did not seem to mind.

"What happened here?" I asked in disbelief. I just left for a few hours and this happened.

That's when I noticed whimpering coming from Ruby. She had her hands on her face as she cried.

"What happened ?" I asked again. A creepy feeling started to go up my spine but I ignored it.

"Is everything okay? Where is mother?"

I touched Ruby's shoulder and she screamed, turning around.

I flinched back and looked into her eyes. They were all black.
