JACKIE'S POV
I sat up in my bed, breathing heavily. I was surrounded by my own sweat. Wait a minute, I said to myself. That was all a dream?
I felt a little relieved, because I didn't know how I felt about Josh being a... Vampire. At the same time, I was a little bit disappointed that it wasn't real, because who would turn down a hot make-out session with their crush? Not this girl.
I went to my phone and checked my messages to see how much of it was a dream. Now that I was checking, there wasn't a message asking me to meet him at the park. What? I asked myself. It felt so... Real.
After having that strange dream, I decided I wanted to see him, so I sent him a message:
Hey, wanna meet me at the diner? 12:00?
He took almost no time to respond.
Sure thing :)
I needed to wear something super cute, so I decided to call my friend Vanessa and have her help me choose an outfit.
She stepped in my room without warning, which scared me. "I'm here!"
"How did you get in--"
"I know where you keep the house key, silly." She tossed a key to me which, sure enough, was the key to my house.
"I-- how did-- whatever. I need help picking out an outfit," I said dreamily, "for a date."
Her eyes widened. "A d-date?" She looked around to make sure nobody was listening, and then added with a whisper, "With a guy?"
I nodded and smiled. She giggled and threw her arms around me. "Oh, this is so exciting!" She opened my closet door and started rummaging through my shirts.
"OH. MY. GOSH." She pulled a gorgeous blue dress from my closet and threw it at me. "TRY IT ON!"
She left the room and gave me privacy to put on the dress. I took off my shirt and looked in the mirror. There were bite marks, right where I dreamt that he bit me. But it wasn't real... Was it?

JOSH'S POV
"Does this count as a first date?" my brother asked suggestively. He raised his eyebrows and gave me a subtle wink.
I groaned and buried my head in my hands, but smiled as soon as my face was hidden. Date? I asked myself.
I rushed upstairs for two reasons. First, to get away from the taunting of my brothers. That was pretty unbearable. Second, I needed to pick out the perfect outfit for my... Date?
I called my friend Tristen over because I knew that his sense of style was, well, fabulous.
I heard the front door open.
"OH YEAH?" I heard Tristen yell from the doorway. "I DON'T CARE!" The door slammed shut and I heard him make his way upstairs to my room.
"What was that about?" I asked, a little shaken.
"Eh," he said casually with a vague hand gesture. "Nothing."
I decided not to press it any more. Besides, I only had an hour to get ready.
"Alright, out of my way." Tristen gently pushed my shoulder and entered my closet. "Stay here."
He closed the door behind him and left me sitting on my bed. I sat there awkwardly for a few minutes until he burst out of the closet.
"I'm coming out of the closet!" Tristen joked. I chuckled and then abruptly stopped once I saw what he had in his hand.
"Uh, there is no way I am wearing that."
"Uh, there is no way you are NOT wearing this." He threw a tuxedo at me with a matching bowtie.
I groaned and worried that wearing something like that would be considered "overdressing for the occasion". I mean, it wasn't even technically a date. Right?
I decided the easiest thing to do would be to text her and see what the dress code was for our "get-together".
What should I wear? :p
Whatever you want. I'm wearing a dress.
Awesome, I wouldn't be overdressed.
"Okay," I said, turning to Tristen. "I have a date to get ready for."

JACKIE'S POV
Once I got to the diner, I saw that he was waiting for me at a table. I approached him and waved. He looked absolutely amazing with his slim tuxedo and gelled hair. He smiled and waved back at me.
"You look absolutely amazing." He stood up and pulled out a chair for me. "I already ordered a milkshake for us, I hope you like chocolate."
"Oh yes." I giggled. "For sure."
The waitress came with one chocolate milkshake. Wait, one? Why did he only order one?
"Did she forget one?" I asked him.
His face went sad immediately.
"No..." He rubbed the back of his neck. "I got this one for us to share."
I stared at him with a small smile.
"I mean, I can g-get another-- like, I'll order another one if you want." He stammered and looked at the floor.
"No," I said, grabbing his hand. "It's perfect."
He stuck two straws in the milkshake and we both started drinking. I looked into his eyes and smiled.

JOSH'S POV
Man, she was gorgeous.
