"Karrrrrrr," Midnights groaned, rolling onto her side on the floor, "Has Rep texted yet?" She put a hand under her head and looked up to her roommate coming from the kitchen. Their cat, also named Karma, following behind her.
Karma looked down at Midnights, who was dressed in the same tee and sweatpants as 3 days ago, and laughed. "Rep's on her way with 1989. Apparently Folk and Lover are also disobeying the law and 1989's bored, so!" She shrugged, grabbing the remote from the end table.
The TV flipped on to the news, still talking about the global lockdown.
Midnights huffed, flopping back onto her backside, "You gonna entertain 1989 then? And if Lover and Folk are messing around, what's Eve up to?" She asked as nonchalantly as possibly, as if she were just curious about her friend.
Karma raised a knowing brow as she leaned against the arm of the couch, momentarily watching the news before looking back down at Midnights. "Evermore's probably doing their schoolwork? Like you should be doing... But who am I to judge! And yeah, me and 1989 always have plans." She grinned and looked back to the TV.
"How long do you think this is gonna be for? I'm already bored of the apartment." Midnights had glanced to the news for a split moment and was already tired of it.
Karma shrugged and changed the channel to whatever Law and Order rerun was playing this afternoon. "How long do you think it's gonna be for?" She retorted instead with a small snort.
Midnights rolled her eyes, finally sitting up for the first time since last night – she'd fallen asleep on the living room floor and just decided to not move – and stretched. Her back popped in at least 3 different spots. "I... have no idea! You saw what it did in China, yeah? Shit's like wildfire." She chuckled dryly, looking up at Karma.
"Eh, we're already on lockdown. Hopefully that slows stuff? I don't really know," she laughed, "At least I don't have to see that bitch from work every morning now!"
"You mean Guts? Isn't she like 6 years younger than you... Karma..." Midnights gave her a disdainful glare. Playfully.
Karma shooed her with her hand, "She's a thorn in my ass. A bitch is a bitch no matter how young she is, I don't give a fuck!"
"A bitch is a bitch no matter how small," Midnights butted in with a cheeky grin, earning a slap upside the head, "That was funny you asshole!"
Karma flipped her off, "I'm not spending lockdown with fucking Dr. Seuss!"
Midnights pushed herself up to the couch, immediately falling backwards into the cushions with a heavy sigh. "Well, you can spend it with your other bitches then!" She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.
Karma looked down at her from where she stood against the couch arm, "I was joking, Mastermind." She chuckled, standing up straight. "I'm gonna text Rep and see where she is, go take a shower and charge your fuckin' phone." She patted Midnights' back, hoping to get her moving finally.
"Mm, yeah. D'you think she'd try to mom me if she saw me like this?" Midnights chuckled to herself, pulling at her tee shirt stained with whatever she was drinking last night.
Karma gave her a once-over when she stood. "Uh, probably. She'd call you a greasy dog and drag you to the shower, I think."
"She knows I'm more of a cat person!" Midnights threw her hands up in false disbelief, "Can cats even get greasy?" She asked when she lowered them.
"You're the cat genius, you tell me!" Karma retorted, chuckling under her breath.
Midnights pointed a finger to the cat underneath the coffee table and titled her head, "Karma is a cat." She raised her brows.
