❥ 𝐀 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫

𝟬𝟬𝟭 | Surprise!

— "𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙚!" her friends and family shouted in a cheerful tone as soon as Kang Saebyeok entered her apartment. By the look on her face right now, she is definitely surprised to say the least. Her mouth slightly hungs open and she could feel the happiness and warmth through her body. "You guys!" She managed to say, in a positive way. One by one, they gave her a big hug, and eventually the rest of the group joined in. "I- I can't believe you all remembered..." Jiyeong laughed wholeheartedly at that: "Of course we remembered silly! How could we forget?" Her friend with a nose piercing replies back. After a bit of talking and some thank you's, the party has officially started.

"Having a good time so far?" Asked Gi-hun, while holding a glass of punch in one of his hands, leaning against the counter. Saebyeok nodded, then gave her friend a smile. "I still can't believe you guys did this for me, my mind is still trying to process it." He chuckles. "Hey, it was no trouble at all. You're our friend, we were more than happy to do this for you. And it's nice seeing you smile." Now it was Sae's turn to chuckle. "Well, thank you... Really. It means a lot." He gave her a side hug, and of course she hugs him back. 

When the two broke the short embrace, they continued to talk and as well as catching up on things. They both have been pretty busy with life lately. With Saebyeok in college, along with her job, and Gi-hun's new job, and also his boyfriend Sangwoo, it was kinda hard for them to make plans and hang out together like they used to. But they do try their best to work things out, as well as keeping in touch. 

The duo were laughing once Jiyeong announced that  it was time for gifts. Both Saebyeok and Gi-hun made their way to the living room. The male took a seat next to his lover, who wrapped and arm around his waist and the older of the two laid his head against his shoulder, causing the other to let out a small blush, then took another sip of his drink. Cheol sat on his mother's lap, swinging his legs back and forth with a plate of a piece of cake in his hands. And Ali and Minyeo sat on the opposite end of the sofa while having random conversations with each other about god knows what.

Jiyeong handed Saebyeok the first present. She ripped the colorful paper and somehow, her smile got even bigger after she looked inside the box. It was a necklace with the first letter of her name on it. She held up the jewelry with her hand under it. "Ooh, that's pretty!"  Minyeo complimented, and everyone nodded in agreement, along with their own compliments as well. Once she put it beside her, she opened the card and read it out loud to where everyone could hear. "Thank you mom, thank you Cheol," she says softly, as well as gratefulness. Cheol got up from his spot and gave his sister a hug, in which she hugged back with no hesitation. "Awww!" The group said in unison, and couldn't help but grin at the cute scene. Saebyeok ruffled her brother's hair, and he giggles.

There was one present left, and it was from Jiyeong! Like with all the others, she handed it to her. And as soon as she finished unwrapping the tissue paper, her eyes winded at what she saw. Jiyeong smiled through her hand. "What is it?!" Asked an eager Ali, and now the rest were starting to wonder. "Are these..." 

"Tickets to a trip to Jeju island? They are!" Jiyeong beams. "Oh my god." Were the first three words that came out of her mouth as she held them up, like she couldn't believe at what she's seeing. "Oh my god oh my god oh my god!" She basically jumped onto the other female with excitement. Her arms wrapped tightly around her shoulders. The woman with a bit of longer hair with highlights, laughs as she hugs back the former pickpocket. "I- I don't even know what to say! This.. Oh my god, thank you so much!" There are so many more things that she wanted to say, but for some reason she couldn't. "Thank you so much, thank you!" She says again. Jiyeong smiles brightly along with a blush on her cheeks. "You're welcome, I knew how much you wanted to go there, so... I saved up my allowance and got these for you. It took everything in my willpower to try and not tell or show you the day I got them. But I also wanted it to be surprise, especially since your birthday was around the corner at that time." 

The woman gently pulled away, but just enough to where they are now facing each other. Both with red hues on their faces. "And it turned out to be a pretty damn great surprise. This.. all of this, everything you guys did today, truly means a lot to me. Seriously. I am at lost for words." 

Oh how Jiyeong wish that she could kiss her right now... 

Instead, the girls embraced each other once more. A bit longer this time.

Hours past, and the sun was now started to set. People continued to stay a bit more before heading home. "Well, we should probably get going." Gi-hun begings, "thank you for having us over! It was fun. And happy birthday to you once again," he says, with a big smile. Sangwoo smiles as well. "Yeah, happy birthday, hope it was a good one!" 

"It definitely was. Thanks you guys. I hope we'll see each other again sometime," she says. The two nodded, then gave her a hug. After that, Sangwoo took his partner's hand in his, and Gi-hun followed behind him towards the door, then exited out of it. 

"Guess it's time for us to go too. I love you, sweetie." Her mom says. Saebyeok smiles. "I love you too, mom." They embraced, then Sae kneeled down to Cheol's level. "Love you Sae," he says. Saebyeok hugs him tight, and her brother hugs her tightly in return. "Love you too little bro." With that, they broke the hug. Their mother held her son's hand and they left as well. Leaving Ali and Minyeo the only ones left. Once they said their goodbyes, they were gone too. 

Jiyeong noticed the aftermath of the event. She knew there was a lot to clean up but they can worry about that later. "Sooo, did you have a good birthday?" She asked, with a smile. Saebyeok nodded. "I did. It was a great day. Thank you for everything. You're... you're a really great friend. And I'm so excited for our trip." 

"Of course, you deserve it. I love-" she pauses for a second. "You're a great friend too."
