Wind graced through the small town you were in, its fingers weaving along branches covered in emerald green leaves- causing them to ruffle and sway to the breezes every command. Unbearable heat had welcomed itself in Japan; the sun's rays that beat down on the earth this time of year were unexpectedly harsher than most of the summers prior to this one- or so you heard.

Rather fortunate not having to deal with the high temperatures outside as you allowed an excited Aoi brimming with energy to guide you into a small café you took note of the atmosphere developing around you right after walking through the doors. Humming in approval at how mellow it was inside the building you tailed after the orange haired girl who eagerly sat herself down in a beige tinted booth.

"This place is just so cute! I'm happy you agreed to let us stop by it before we go back to your place!" Aoi chirped out and you shrugged your shoulders at her words.

A lazy smile developed on your face as you looked around, "If it keeps me from burning alive out there then I'd just about accept anything."

The interior of the building was coated in a carnation pink paint with a few white stripes mixed in to counteract the walls from being too plain. Yet you doubted that would be an issue on its own as cat paw laminated posters and other things related to said animal were plastered just about everywhere.

Dark oak was what made up the flooring below your feet as you seated yourself across from your friend, a surprisingly plush material making up the chair you had decided to sit in. The sweet aroma wafting around in the air no doubt from the desserts that they served at the café was enough to make your mouth water as you crossed your arms over your chest.

Aoi let out a sigh of awe as she looked around, "Would you want to get anything from here, [First name]? I heard that their treats are to die for!"

Your leg twitched as something brushed up against it and as you lowered your gaze to inspect what was to be held accountable for said action. You felt your gaze soften as you looked at the eyes of a calico who blinked up at you in mild interest.

A small smile tugged at the corners of your lips and you gently patted your lap, offering the cat a place to rest. One of the animal's ears twitched yet it seemingly got the memo, meowing happily before hopping up onto the edge of the seat before climbing onto your legs.

Bringing up a hand you slowly pet the calico who had begun to purr with contentment as you scratched behind its ear. Aoi let out a cooing sound towards the feline who ignored her, making said girl huff with annoyance before slumping back down in her chair.

"Yeah," you began, "I'd like to try some. I don't have a major sweet tooth right now though."

"That's fine, anything you don't eat is just more for me!" She giggled out, a bright grin flashing on her face.

Conversing with your orange haired friend for a few more minutes you let out a simple sigh as the calico soon got bored of your presence and hopped off your lap- going to find elsewhere to rest. It didn't take but a few more moments for a waitress to hurry over to you both, readjusting her uniform and smoothing down her hair to ensure she looked picture perfect before she addressed the two of you.

"Aha, welcome to Fancy Felines! I apologize for the wait, one of the cats had an incident and it needed to be taken care of quickly. Is there anything I can get for you two lovely ladies?" The woman piped up in an obviously forced high pitch voice and you held back a grimace at the fact.

Aoi, seemingly unbothered by it, simply nodded, "Mhm, can I get started with a caramel latte?"

Plucking out two menus pinned between her side and bicep she handed them both to you before jotting down Aoi's order on a small notepad she'd been carrying. Turning to you with a gentle smile the woman closed her eyes before speaking again.
