chapter one: welcome to camp

It was a hot summer day in Louisiana,a little Mirai sat on the front porch, eating a piece of watermelon her mother had cut for her. She was frowning,her eyebrows furrowed,the little girl was around 13 to 15,her hair was short,and dark brown, about to her mid shoulder it was choppy and a bit fluffy. Mirai took another bite spitting out the seeds as she shade of the porch protected her from the beaming sun,her lips and general mouth Area that was usually it's creamy light brown color,now with a faint red tint from the watermelon. She whipped a bead of sweat off her forehead and brought the plate back In the house, putting it in the sink. The ticking of the clock got her attention,it was 7:00am,she had gotten dressed as she was excited for camp, wearing a striped pink and white shirt with overalls her brother cut into shorts and her old sneaker. She heard a creek in the floor board,she looks to the direction,she walked towards it wanting to know the cause of the noise,courisoity killed the cat,but she wasn't a cat

"Mama? Is that you?" She said opening the door,her mom bringing mirais luggage to the car,her father helping,she got herself a bottle of water, taking in the smell of the house for the last time in 3 mouth before grabbing a tea bag and stuffing it I into her pocket, running out the house and to the car, putting on her seatbelt. Her mama sang amazing grade while her father drove 5 hour's to the camp.

And after 6 bathroom breaks and 2 emergency samwitch's they made it. Mirai got out the car as soon as possible,the smell of pine and fresh running water filled her nose,giddy and Excited. Her mom and dad brought her things to the owner of the camp,Mr Grey. He had pale skin, and he was rather slim, white hair with a bald spot,he smelled of colone and cigars.

"Hello! You must be the valentine family, it's nice to meet you welcome to camp selene! Leave those at the front I'll get some older kids to get them,go ahead and say your goodbyes" mr.grey said,his voice Gruffy and to the point.she hugged her mother and father, saying there goodbyes she ran in the camp,it was amazing,the paper said she was in cabin 7.

Now don't get me wrong,she loves the camp but she can't help but get bored,she dug in her pocket looking for something to do,she pulled out a lemon seed. That's it! She will plant a seed on the best hill at camp. The past half hour was spent running around camp, when she found the hill she ran to the top and planted the seed.

"Hey I was going to read there" a voice spoke, Mirai looks to see a girl around her age,with A middle skin tone and freakles,with curtly blonde hair, wearing jeans and a camp selene shirt. "Hey aren't you the new girl?" Mira look her in the eyes "um yes I'm Mirai valentine" she said avoiding eye contact,the girl smiles "I'm Anna... welcome to camp newbie"
