The CIS or Confederacy of independent systems was the leading faction fighting the Republic during the Clone Wars. The CIS is comprised of companies including the Trade Federation, InterGalactic Banking Clan, Techno Union, Commerce Guild, and Corporate Alliance. Also know as the Separatist Alliance the CIS is run by the Seperatist Council and Count Dooku. When Count Dooku died an the Seperatist Council executed the CIS still ran on. Run by the mysterious Darth Sidious the CIS was put in charge of three generals: General Grievous, General Jango Fett (who didnt get beheaded), and General Darth Maul (who when cut in half got a robot lower body). The CIS started when the companies broke off from the Republic and Started a "New" Republic where the Sith were in charge.
