An orange tom sprinted through the woods, his heart pounding. A white she-cat followed him, her golden gaze full of fear and anger.

Eventually they darted up a tree and huddled in the branches, watching as a group of cats ran out from under them. The orange cat exhaled.

"That was a close call," he murmured, shivering slightly. "We need to be more careful. And we didn't even catch any prey."

The white cat angrily turned away. "If we had gone with my plan, we would be eating right now, all safe."

"We would be eating crow-food, 'all safe'," the tom grumbled.

"At least crow-food is better than nothing," the she-cat muttered, beginning to climb down the tree again. "You're such an idiot, trying to hunt on clan territory."

"This shouldn't be there territory, this should be ours! They took it right from our paws, those greedy, selfish thieves. They have enough prey to feed a whole clan, and they took even more, so we can't even feed the two of us."

"I can feed us!" The she-cat snarled. "But nooo, you have to disagree and insist your plan would work. You know what? I quit."

    "Quit?" The tom echoed.

"Exactly! I'm not staying with you anymore. You're too stubborn to listen to the only plan that could work, so you're going to starve us one day. Goodbye."

The tom watched in shock as she stormed away from him, the end of her fluffy white tail vanishing in the trees. He swallowed hard, turning in the opposite direction.

I don't care. I don't need her anyway. Family's always going to betray you in the end.
