After the victorious battle against Doctor Callaghan's minions, Pepita soared through the moonlit skies of the Land of the Dead, carrying Hiro and Miguel on her back. The wind whispered through the air, and the magical city glittered below like a vibrant tapestry of lights.

Amidst the ethereal journey, Hiro turned to Miguel, his curiosity evident in his eyes. "Hey, Miguel, I've been meaning to ask. What was that jerk Ernesto's deal with your family, Miguel? Why was he so intent on causing trouble?"

Miguel sighed, a mix of frustration and confusion crossing his face. " I once believed Ernesto was my great-great-grandfather. He was a famous musician in the living world, but he turned out to be a real jerk. He stole Héctor's songs and ideas, and he... well, he did some really terrible things."

Hiro's eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. "But why target your family in the Land of the Dead? What did he hope to achieve?"

As they glided through the starry sky, Hector, who had joined the flight alongside Pepita, decided to share the untold story of Ernesto de La Cruz's motivations. "Ernesto was a complicated man, mijo. He never knew what it was like to have a family, to experience the warmth of unconditional love. Fame and adoration were his only companions in life."

Imelda, joining the conversation, added, "He believed that achieving greatness and leaving a lasting legacy would fill the void within him. But his desire for recognition turned him into a selfish, ruthless man."

Hiro listened intently, his eyes focused on the distant horizon. "So, he targeted the Riveras because he wanted to take advantage of their connection to the Land of the Dead?"

Hector nodded, "Exactly. When he realized the Riveras had a unique bond with the spirits and the magic of the Land of the Dead, he saw an opportunity to extend his legacy beyond the grave. But in doing so, he jeopardized the harmony that keeps this realm in balance."

Imelda sighed, her gaze distant as she recalled the painful memories. "Ernesto's actions not only hurt our family but also threatened the very essence of the Land of the Dead. He sought recognition and admiration at the cost of everything we hold dear."

Miguel, clenching his fists, spoke with determination, "We can't let his selfish desires ruin the magic and harmony of the Land of the Dead. We have to protect what's important."

As Pepita continued to carry them through the starlit skies, the Riveras and their friends shared a collective understanding. The journey ahead held not only challenges but also the opportunity to safeguard the bonds that transcended life and death.
