Chapter 3 - Looking for Clues

While the Elders were looking for clues, Mulled Juice Cookie approached Captain Caviar Cookie, who looked sad and empty. "Captain? Whats wrong? Whats with the look? You know you can open up to me, right?"
"Its...because of Canelé. She meant so much to me because we've been friends ever since we were children...and now shes gone." Captain Caviar then started to tear up. His voice sounded shaky. "She was the only person I had...the only best friend I had...!" Mulled Juice felt bad and let out his arms for a hug. Captain Caviar hugged him really tightly and cried on his shoulder. Custard Cookie then approached the two.
"Yo. Aren't you two supposed to be looking for clues?"
"Can you leave us alone? I'm trying to comfort someone right now because he just lost his own best friend." And thats when Custard started to get angry.
"Wha-?! I don't CARE if he just lost his best friend, this case is more important than mourning the loss of your friend! Do that after we have everything solved!" Mulled Juice was going to say something back, but Captain Caviar stood up for himself instead.
"LISTEN. That woman was the only friend I had in my whole entire life. The ONLY friend that was there for me. And now I can't even mourn for her?
I am SO tired of you always controlling and using us like you own us, especially your son. YOUR VERY OWN SON. I dont even get how you have a good reputation from all that! Your manipulative personality!" Custard started to laugh. "Wow, you're really hilarious. I only adopted him for the reputation of our House, and its been doing GREAT!" Custard continued to laugh, but stopped once Captain Caviar spoke again.
"And you would berate and abuse your son for the LITTLEST things. You yelled at him because he didn't know how to write the alphabet at the age of 3."
"Ooooooooooh!" said all the Elders. They then were in disbelief.
"Clearly you haven't experienced losing a person that meant a lot to you before, so no wonder we're having this conversation right now...oh right, I forgot. Your brother died in the Dark Flour War, you just don't want to admit it." All the Elders were in SHOCK after what he said. "I-I need a minute." Custard said. He ran upstairs to his bedroom.
"Sorry for everything that just happened...I was just angry because Custard wouldn't let me mourn for my best friend's death...after she meant a lot to me." Mulled Juice was angry after what he said. "Still, you shouldn't have SAID that! I mean sure hes a bad person but that really hurt." he confronted him. Captain Caviar rolled his eyes and walked away, continuing to investigate.

1:00pm
Sablé Cookie and Baumkuchen were looking for clues together. They then found a bloody kitchen knife on the ground. Sablé Cookie picked it up.
"Hmm...maybe this could be the knife that was used to kill Canelé Cookie. Baumkuchen Cookie, stay here. I'm going to give this to Clotted Cream." Baumkuchen wasn't too sure about staying in the hallway for a while, because he was worried he would be the killer's next victim, but he stayed anyway. He also knew that it wouldn't be a good idea for Sablé to go alone.
Sablé tried finding Clotted, but she couldn't find him because there was a lot of hallways and rooms in the mansion. She looked in each room but he wasn't there. While walking, she felt a hand cover her mouth, then felt a sharp object enter her stomach. She tried to say something, but couldn't. "Shhhh...shhhh...its ok...." the killer whispered to her before putting her down. Sablé is dead.

3:00pm
The Elders are resting after a long time of searching. Mulled Juice sat down next to Caviar and put his hand on his shoulder.
"How are you doing? Are you feeling alright?" he asked. "...yeah. I'm doing alright." After he said that, he laid down on Mulled Juice's lap, then closed his eyes to take a nap. Mulled Juice let out a little laugh and yawned. He felt tired too, and also took a nap.
While the Elders were asleep, Baumkuchen was worried about Sablé to the point he started to get scared. He was deciding to himself if he should go and look for Sablé without getting killed or just dont investigate at all. What should he do? How would the Elders know about Sablé's death?
