With the good characters covered, let's dive into the area where characters are not good but not evil either. This is the grey area.

First is Swag and Chris. Okay, now I know this will piss people off, but hear me out. First, both Swag and Chris are good people, mostly. They helped the gang in multiple places, such as helping fight back against the anime cartel and fighting back against Nintendo. They also care about each other as friends. However, they can also be antagonistic. Especially when teaming up against the gang, like in the anime arc, or by teaming up with Wren to nearly kill the gang. However, the reason they are here... is because of Swag. Swag is very immoral and cares about no one but himself. He'll insult people, make inappropriate comments, and will often make fun of people's suffering. While Chris is more moral and sensible than Swag, the duo are always seen together, so they more than anything else earn a spot here in the grey area.

Okay, this may also upset people, but hear me out. Bob is up next. Much like Swag, Bob is very immoral and uncaring, but worse. He's known for breaking the law on occasion, from robbing people to even assaulting his friends. He also burned his own mansion down, dropped Boopkins in a well to be seen as a hero, and insulted the gang by uploading a dis track. He also had no problems against saying that Boopkins ruined his life. These are all awful deeds, and Bob was fully aware of it. However, he has redeeming qualities. Despite his mistreatment towards him, Bob does love and care about Boopkins as a little brother. He also apologized to the gang for his actions and even straight up did what he could to redeem himself. He also isn't afraid to help fight for equality, like in the anime arc and the lawsuit arc. He also shows concern for Mario when he ran after Gear Head alone. Though Bob is still greedy and morally questionable, I decided to put him here in the grey tier.

Next is a character who started as a villain, SMG3. While some people will say 3 deserves to be put lower down, I decided to be nice. First are his bad actions. SMG3 was originally an archenemy to Mario, SMG4, and the others. He started as a fan who wanted to make SMG4s videos his own but got defeated by Mario and SMG4. Then, he became their rival and vowed revenge. He tried to kill them multiple times, and even straight up, and tried to get SMG4 canceled as well. However, his worst actions were in the YouTube arc, where he sent the SMG4 crew to the internet graveyard and kept Mario hostage, lied to his own team of friends, and tried to kill them again, only to fail. However, for as awful as 3 was, he does have good deeds as well. He does genuinely care for his friends and the dead memes, wanting to protect them no matter what. He helped fight back against Zerø and Nintendo, saved Melony from being controlled by Zerø, and stood up for Mario when he thought everyone forgot his birthday. I also should mention that he also felt remorse for his actions and wanted to do what he could to make amends. While I can't rank him higher for his evilness, 3 does enough good in my opinion to rank in the grey tier.

In the lower half, it's time for the invaders to appear. The invaders are a team of supervillains that aren't so much evil, though they are somewhat bad. They do small-time jobs as part of Gear Heads rein and do whatever they can to appease him. That being said, they're far from true evil. While they did attack Junior Justice and try to kill Mario, they also redeemed themselves by turning themselves in and even reform and help stop Gear Heads' plan. While their actions are unforgivable, at least they used their second chance and reformed. For these reasons, they rank here.

Next, we have Wario. Another villain who surprisingly is in the neutral territory. Yes, Wario has done horrible actions. For starters, he's a conman, a thief, and a bankrobber. He also had no problem making sure everyone who crossed him suffers for not obeying his demands. But despite this, Wario is surprisingly a decent guy. He cares deeply about Waluigi and wants to help him after he goes crazy. He also helped fight against Nintendo to give all non-Nintendo IPs freedom from being banished from the mushroom kingdom. He's also willing to help the heroes in other ways, though for a price. While far from a perfect hero, he does enough good to rank here.

Next is Miyamoto. Now, many people think that he deserves to rank lower, but hear me out. Miyamoto is the leader of Nintendo, and the secondary villain in the lawsuit arc. However, he's nowhere as evil as Lawyer Kong, who we'll get to in a bit. While he did turn Nintendo into a prison, many would argue he did that due to Kongs lies. Thankfully, Miyamoto redeems himself, approving of the SMG4 crew, under the condition that SMG4 and 3 change their looks to not look like Mario anymore. He also gets Mario to the hospital after Kong attempts to kill him. While it's up for debate if he can be fully redeemed, he does enough good to rank here in the grey section.

Rounding up the grey area, we have Bowser. Bowser really needs no introduction. He's the king of the koopas and is feared by all in the mushroom kingdom. He obviously has the horrible case of kidnapping Peach multiple times, had sex with Peach behind Mario's back, attempted taking over the mushroom kingdom, kidnaps multiple innocent people, and has attempted to kill Mario, Luigi, and their friends as well. However, possibly his pettiest action was when he found out Mario was the Crimson Star and blackmailed him into harming his friends with terrible pranks. While Mario didn't make the situation better, at least he did redeem himself. Bowser, on the other hand, was more than happy to ruin Mario's life. And when Mario quit, Bowser kidnapped the SMG4 crew, planned to kill them, and nearly killed Mario, all out of spite for his plans being ruined. Needless to say, Bowser is awful, but he isn't all bad. He does seem to care about his children, the koopalings, even though his parenting methods can be a bit neglectful. He also does apologize for what he did, and Mario did forgive him. He was even overjoyed over the fact that his kids were his once again. For these reasons, he barely escapes the bad tier.
