You felt annoyed and frustrated as you continued to lay wide awake in bed.

You stared up at the ceiling for a few seconds and then closed your heavy eyes with a sigh falling from your lips.

You're exhausted after your long day but regardless, you can't fall asleep.

Dayeon was holding you when she first fell asleep, which was about an hour ago, but now she's in a deep sleep and rolled over in bed, facing away from you as she sleeps.

You're tempted to wake her but you're keeping it as your last option, hoping you can get through it and get some good sleep on your own without disturbing your exhausted girlfriend.

You rolled over onto your side, you'd back now facing Dayeon's. You yawned and closed your eyes, pulling your blanket up to your shoulders before you tried to sleep.

But just like your other attempts, a few minutes passed by with you feeling wide awake and restless, and you opened your eyes with a groan.

You don't know what to do.

You've got a busy day ahead of you and you desperately need sleep.

But you can't get comfortable enough and every time you close your eyes, you can't help the way your anxieties about possibly not getting any sleep tonight creep into your brain.

You turned over to Dayeon and put your hand on her shoulder. A soft sound fell from her lips before you started to brush your hand along her back.

Slowly, she awoke.

She hummed quietly as you brushed your nails along her back and whispered her name. She turned over to face you and rubbed the sleep from her tired eyes.

"What time is it?"

You looked at the clock on the wall and then back at her.

"Almost two am."

"Are you okay? Why are you up at this hour when we both have an early morning and busy day?"

"Can you please cuddle me?" You asked quietly, fingers intertwining with hers. "Please, Dayeon? I can't sleep. I'm so tired but I'm just not comfortable enough to sleep and every time I close my eyes, I worry about the time and not sleeping,"

"Shh," she interrupted you, shaking you softly. "It's okay, baby. I've got you." She said as she scooted closer to you and pulled you into her arms.

"Are you comfortable now?" She asked, kissing your cheek.

You smiled to yourself and closed your eyes as she kissed your forehead.

"Yeah."

"Good." She said and brushed the tip of her nose against your forehead. "Calm down, my love. You'll be okay, you'll sleep soon. No need to worry, you just relax. I've got you. Close your eyes."

You sighed, thinking to yourself that you'd just close them again in a few minutes when you get frustrated and can't sleep.

But Dayeon began to rub her fingertips along your arms, kissed your forehead and temple on occasion, and sang your favorite song as she tried her very hardest to soothe you to sleep.

It took a few minutes but you started to feel yourself drifting off to sleep.

Her pretty voice in your ear and her touch had calmed your worries and you finally felt like you could get some rest.

"Are you sleeping?"

"Not yet. Almost." You mumbled tiredly.

"Okay. I love you lots. I hope you sleep well."

"I love you. Now, keep singing to me. Your voice is so pretty."

She grinned and kissed your forehead lingeringly.

She continued to sing to you and helped you drift off to sleep.

"Are you asleep?" She asked a few minutes later and only heard your breathing in response.

"Guess you are. Goodnight, darling. Sleep tight." She said and put her head on yours, falling asleep with you as she held you close.
