"See...the question is we have to findout the sp² hybridised compounds...so we the options as BeCl²,BF³ and CH⁴...if u see this clearly...the electronic configuration of B is 1s² 2s² 2p¹...so in the excited state one atome from 2s² goes to the p(y) orbital and there are 3 unpairedelectrons...so the lone pair of each flourine attach to these 3 sp² hybridised electrons...since an electron from s orbital and 2 electron p orbital is used for bonding...this is called as sp² hybridization..
