The clock struck at 9 AM. Nisha was alone at home.
She was making her favourite breakfast—a coffee and egg omelette. The aroma of coffee spread across the kitchen, and Nisha prepared the egg omelette. She filled her coffee in her favourite mug and decorated a plate for an egg omelette. Doing such things was her favourite part of being alone at home.
buzz* buzz*buzz*buzz*
Her phone started buzzing, which was kept on the kitchen counter. She looked at the caller ID which says 'AIIMS Delhi Student'. She picked us quirkily because it was Mira.
"What are you doing right now?" Mira started with the usual question.
"Nothing much just made breakfast for me," Nisha replied while grabbing her coffee mug and plate toward the kitchen table while balancing her phone.
"umm nice, it means no one is in the home." Mira tried to conclude her reply.
"Yes."
"Well, you are coming na? Is it confirmed?" Mira brought up an important topic.
"Yes, but why?" Nisha asked.
"What about mom and dad? Did they permit you?" Mira asked, and this question was tricky for Nisha to answer because she hadn't asked them yet.
"Well, they will give me.......... and why on earth do you think that they will make this little decision?" Nisha tried to maintain a conversation.
"Then tell me which conditioner you are using?" Mira asked.
"I don't use it."
"Why?" Mira asked as if they were in the Viva exam.
"Because my mom didn't........" and she stopped there because she realized what Mira wanted to say.
"I hope you will come. I want to meet you because I missed you, my dear friend." Mira's tone turned from serious to flirty tone.
"Ahh stop, don't start it again...." Nisha replied in friendly frustration.
"Yes, yes... see ya."
Nisha placed her phone kitchen table and sat to eat breakfast. The Train of thought was running at a fast speed and then she decided to check and email again because today was the last day to get any updates about admission.
She opened her email but saw that the latest update was 1 week ago from YouTube. This realization made her scared to face her family. She was on the edge of the next breakdown and didn't pay attention to the mobile data, which was switched off. It took 3 minutes to realise.
She switched on the data and she didn't believe her eyes but she got admission to 'New College Pune".
She left the enormous sigh that she was holding for a while. This news made her feel calm for the first time after 6 months this year. She smiled happily and then took a screenshot of it and shared this with her friends on the 'THREE MUSKETTERS'. Then she shared this news with her parents and Arav. Everyone was glad and even her dad told Arav to accompany her to visit college for once before actual classes and Arav also agreed with it. Her mom was so happy that in the flow when Nisha asked for permission, her mom gave her permission in one go. Even though there was a restriction to come home before 6. Since it was not new for Nisha to have restrictions on the smallest decisions, but because she wanted to enjoy this moment, she didn't give much attention to it.
[At 11 AM near Amusement Park]
"I don't think he is good for you." Avni cleared her opinion.
"I know," Mira replied with confidence.
"You should be supposed to say ' How do you know what's good for me?'.... right?" Avni tried to explain it.
"But you do." Mira smiled and said.
Avni looked at Nisha and asked," What is wrong with her? Why she is talking so sweetly?" Her eyes were expressing how shocked she was, but there was a hit of playfulness. Nisha agreeing on her question said," I was going to ask same."
"Common guys!! Today is the best day so we should shed all our negative thoughts because when life gives you lemon you should make lemonade." Mira said while giving a funny but confident tone as if she was about to start a motivational podcast.
Avni and Nisha looked at each other and started laughing, but they knew that it was a much-needed thing. They continued their friendly conversation until the waiter served french fries and coffee on their table.
"So you are going to Pune to study... proud of you," Avni said while taking one French frie.
"Yes, but there is nothing to be proud of," Nisha replied while taking one sip of coffee
"Ahh, don't start talking negatively. And after all, we both know that you decided to take Aerospace engineering because it will give you the tag of engineer." Mira said it in anger because she hates the way Nisha talks negatively about her achievements.
"hmm.. that's true I want to learn it for that because 80% of my family members are engineers. If I had told them I wanted to do research, then......"
Avni, who was listening to everything, gave her opinion, "Then? You had to face a lot of criticism and mental humiliation from relatives, but what about today? You are getting humiliated by your classmates, teacher, neighbours and relatives. I am just telling you what I observed in the end it's your life please don't waste it.
"I get what you mean, don't worry," Nisha assured her, but she was confused.
"And since you are on the edge of completing 18 years of your life, you should live it in your way. I am not saying to do anything wrong, okay?"
"Yes, ma'am," Nisha said while giving her a playful salute.
After some time, Avni kind of pulled both of them towards the Roller coaster side. Even though Mira was scared of the Roller Coaster, she held one hand on Nisha and one hand on Avni. Nisha, who was equally scared, held Mira's hand tightly. Surprisingly, as soon as the ride started, that fear changed into joy for both of them, but for Avni, it turned out to be a scary ride. Avni was the one who was shouting all the time. Finally, the ride came to an end.
After that, they took many photos together and again spent some time together in a cafe. As the clock was approaching 6, they said goodbye to each other with assurance to meet again.
"See you both soon." Nisha smiled and said and as if they heard it through telepathy, they waved their hands from far afar.
