Pretend - {Miguel O'hara}

Introduction

Jenny (short for Jennifer) was your average Spider-Woman. Jenny got bit by a radioactive spider but her twin brother also got bit. Her twin brother was also Spider-Man. Jenny and Jason, the Spider-Twins. They got bitten at the age of 15 and they have been the Spider-Twins for the last 3 years. They always relied on each other for everything since they could understand each other better than anyone else. The twins were both admired as heroes but Spider-man got more attention since no one has really seen Spider-Woman do anything to help but people choose to ignore what she does.

Jenny's homelife was happy. She had her mom (Tammy) and step-dad (Mike), her twin brother (Jason), her younger sisters (Nicki, 14 and Brooke, 8), and her younger brother (Matteo). Her actual father left when she and Jason were born and Tammy moved on with Mike and that's how Jenny got little siblings. Jenny and Jason called Mike dad though, they still loved Mike as a father and he had no problem with that. Jenny was like the third parent to her younger siblings since Tammy and Mike were both police officers but Mike got a promotion to Chief. Both of her parents were busy but so was Jenny with her Spider-Woman duties. She had to go stop some villains, police tried finding her, she ran away, but she saved everyone and she would run home, that was the routine.

Jenny's world was breathtaking. It was a giant forest but it still had buildings and technology. Jenny always wanted to know more about her own home but she believed in Mother Nature so she always puts her faith in the Great Mother. She was spiritual and traditional to her beliefs and culture.

After a mission, she had to take some time to herself and she needed to find some peace. She swung to a nearby tree with branches everywhere. She swung to the top and sat on a large branch. She sat down and took off her mask and she sighed heavily. Her home was quiet and beautiful. The people always needed help from her or her twin brother since villains were always trying to do something bad. She sighed as she leaned her head against the large tree root. She always admired her home, she loved living in the forest and the buildings were always so breathtaking. It was so full of life, everyone was so calm and peaceful. The animals were lovely and she wouldn't have it any other way. She stared at the skyscraper in the middle of the city and she sighed.

"You know, I could've helped you, sis" Jason said from underneath her.

"I handled it perfectly fine, brother" Jenny huffed.

She was always the shadow, the black sheep. Everyone praised her brother while she just went unknown. She tried to make herself known but the universe wasn't on her side. Jason can tell when Jenny feels left out so he always tries to make her feel like she belonged.  Jason swung up to meet his twin sister and he sat down next to her.

"My baby sis, the mighty warrior who faced the deadly Green Goblin and lived to tell about it! Look, I'm proud of you but you know who would be prouder? Mom would be so proud of you since you still use a bow and arrow to fight our enemies and that's so traditional of you!" Jason laughed softly.

Jenny smiled and shook her head. "Mom would kill us both if she found out about us being the Spider-Twins and I'm not your baby sis! You're not my older brother just because you are 50 seconds older than me!" Jenny laughed.

All of a sudden, both of them heard a little girl screaming and sobbing from deep within the forest. Jenny immediately recognized that scream as her little sister, Brooke's crying. Jenny and Jason both got up and started running to the sounds of their little sister crying.

They kept running but Jenny came to a stop. She sniffed the air and gasped. She was trained to learn people's scent and smell. Jenny knew that Brooke was nearby and they had to be careful because the forest holds many dangers. Jenny shot a web to a nearby tree and she swung up to the branch. She turned to look at her surroundings and she gasped when she saw Brooke being shouted at by some other Spider-People. Jenny narrowed her eyes at the group, as she analyzed the people who shouted at her little sister.

"Where are we?!" A man who had a blue and red spider suit shouted at Brooke.  Brooke sobbed as the man held her wrists tightly to prevent her from running away.

"Miguel, go easy on her! She's just a kid" A woman snapped at the man who snapped at Brooke.

Jenny had enough as she grabbed her bow and arrow. She had an arrow, aimed at the man who had a red and blue spider suit. She shot the arrow but the man quickly moved so it wouldn't hit him. He snarled and started running towards Jenny. Jenny shouted at Brooke to run and she took off running. Jenny began to run away from the man in the red and blue spider suit. He started chasing her as he started shouting in Spanish. Jenny shot a web at the man's feet and it tied his feet together. He fell and huffed in anger. Jenny ran up to him as she heard the other spider people running towards her. One lady jumped on her and tied her hands together. Jenny snarled and tried kicking the lady away from her. The man cut off the web off his feet and he stood up. He walked over to Jenny and grabbed her roughly by the back of her neck. Jenny hissed as she got scared.

"Who are you and where are we?" The man spoke sternly.

"Jenny!" Jason called out as he tried running towards her but he got pulled away, his hands and feet were tied so he couldn't try to do anything. He huffed in frustration and Brooke was crying.

"So we're doing this the hard way, huh?" The man in the red and blue suit snarled as he grabbed a knife and Jenny's eyes widened underneath her mask.

"I'm Jenny..." She coughed out as quickly as possible as she didn't want to hear her sister cry anymore.

Who was this guy and what did he want?

The man let go of Jenny and she fell to the ground while holding her neck, catching her breath. She took off her mask as she needed more room to breathe. She looked up at the man and finally asked the question she's been dying to know.

"Who are you?"

------- Umm this is kinda sloppy but I hope this is decent to understand! This book has some details from Avatar and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse! Like some details and inspiration will come from both movies! I know that this book will need some improvement but I'm just happy to write and have something for people to read!----
