"Hyunjin!"

A girl of eight came running to the park, her chocolate eyes gleaming like gems and her smile more beautiful than the sun itself.

She was so happy to see him.

A small smile formed on the boy's otherwise blank face as he watched her, a smile meant for her and her only.

"I missed you so much! Mom didn't let me go anywhere before finishing the homework."

She pouted and plopped down beside him, complaining like she always did and the older listened quietly as he always did.

He stared at her, his face unreadable.

"Do you want to see me everyday?"

"Of course! You are my favourite person! I want to be together with you everyday forever!"

She smiled brightly at him.

"Promise?"

He held up his pinky.

"Promise!"

She giggled as she interwined her little finger with his.

I was too naive back then.

If I had known what would happen, I won't make that promise so easily.
