As I wandered through the forest, I couldn't help but feel enchanted by its beauty. The tall trees covered in vibrant green leaves, the colorful flowers blooming all around me, and the gentle sound of birds chirping in the distance. Everything seemed to be straight out of a fairy tale.
But as I continued to walk, I realized that the beauty of the forest was also its curse. The dense trees made it difficult for me to find my way, and soon enough I found myself lost.
The sun was setting, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. I couldn't help but feel a bit panicked, knowing that soon it would be dark and I would be completely lost in this strange forest.
As I wandered around aimlessly, I suddenly stumbled upon a stunning stream. The water was crystal clear and it seemed to sparkle in the fading sunlight. I couldn't resist the temptation, I knelt down to take a sip. It was the most refreshing water I had ever tasted.
Feeling relieved, I sat by the stream and dipped my feet in the cool water.
I sat on a rock close to the stream, lost in thought as the sun began to set rapidly. I had been there aimlessly for hours, thinking of how to find my way back to civilization. The trees towered over me, their branches casting shadows that sent chills down my spine.
I tried to focus on finding my way out, but my mind kept drifting back to the events that led me here, to this unfamiliar and eerie forest. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I thought of how I was going to survive in this dark and secluded place.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't hear the presence of a human behind me. Before I could react, I felt a hand grip my shoulder. I let out a blood-curdling scream and quickly got to my feet, ready to defend myself.
But as I turned around, I was met with a surprising sight. A very old lady stood there, she was hunched over, using a stick for support. Her gray hair was in a neat bun and her face was adorned with freckles.
Her dark skin contrasted with her piercing gray eyes, just like mine. Her gray eyes really caught my attention they were so striking and familiar. For a moment, I felt like I was looking at an aged version of myself.
My fear turned into curiosity as I stared at the old lady. She smiled kindly at me and said, "Lost souls are often found in the woods, my dear. Let me help you find your way back home."
"Who are you?" I couldn't help but ask, still on guard.
The woman smiled and shook her head in amusement. "Dovrei chiederti che cara,(I should be asking you that dear.') she said in a soft voice.
Her words and gentle demeanor calmed me down. But I couldn't shake off the feeling of distrust. Maybe I've seen too many fairy tales of evil old women living alone in the forest, I thought to myself.
Call me a child, but my mind went to the story of Snow White and the evil Queen. The old lady chuckled, as if reading my thoughts.
"I know what you're thinking, dear. But you don't have to worry, you're safe with me. It's getting late, you can spend the night at my cottage and at dawn I'll take you back to civilization."
