A single moment of horrific pain, a moment of bloodshed, and a moment of light enshrouding the smaller ball of flesh that was now unveiled to the world. But the world wasn't what the small infant should have seen. He was able to hear the chatter of people, the sounds of machines, and the sounds of a woman in distress. He recognized that voice. It was the voice of a woman he could remember clearly while forming the rest of his body in the womb. When his eyes open he is greeted by a swarm of faces, and white coats.
"Seems he's opening his eyes now. What is odd is that he doesn't appear to be bothered at all with his own birth. Naturally infants are wailing in shock when leaving the womb, but this child appears to not even flinch."
His eyesight isn't fully there, but he can still hear the voices all around him. His eyes were a lovely shade of pale sea green. The woman who was cursing to the heavens as she gave birth stared at her newborn son with a look of hesitancy. The eyes that stared at her were staring with keen awareness, something that never truly happens with newborns. Newborns are not meant to be as aware as he appeared to be.
"Well then shall we name the child?" one of the nurses ask.
The child's mother hesitates to respond, but eventually caves as she answers, "I already have it."
As the nurse carefully rests the infant into her arms, she brushes back the small little locks of black hair and smiles gently.
"His fully name shall be Vincent. Vincent Milos Seymour."
As the days rolled on by, Vincent would be carried around in a dazed like state as if he was so focused on the faces and voices all around him. This type of behavior was unnatural and should have been impossible, as a newborn shouldn't be fully capable of being too attentive to everything around them, especially people. This had managed to catch the attention of a doctor who happened to belong to the Seymour family in general but for certain reasons.
First names were never fully needed, therefore the family only addressed the man in question as Dr. Anderson. A man who was committed to his field, but was also committed to the ideas of evolution, that humans would one day achieve a form of immortality or longer life spans. However, he took things further in his research, and it began to lead into questionable territories. The Seymour family was rather wealthy, and was a family that held power and money from different corners around the world, therefore they were the main sponsors for Dr. Anderson. The head of the family, Vincent's father, Arther Seymour—was a man that would put money to whatever interests him. And the doctor's research fascinated him, however once Dr. Anderson had informed him of the need to begin testing with humans he had to think of how to gather people. But Dr. Anderson had another idea in mind, he had wanted to use his family first, and since he was the one in charge of their medical history he wouldn't be suspected of working with them on them. Any cruel type of experiments would never come to him since he is the one who funds his research.
They needed to be careful as their entire operation could be exposed and closed down by the government, so to keep it all going they made connections with personnel in the government itself leaving for them to be protected from the laws. Workers were all hired and contracts were fully endorsed, and should one choose to wish to retire then the possibility of death is high, however the other option was to erase their records, change their names, and leave their friends and family behind, practically erasing their entire existence.
