The chicken or the egg.
Pick a side. Most people reason that without a chicken, there couldn't be an egg. But, think about it for a second. Other birds could have evolved into the chicken!
So then, you have a new question. What came first, the bird or the egg? Well, it is probably egg again. Birds came from reptiles, as you might have heard in your childhood dinosaur books.
Then comes the "egg or reptile!" Well, reptiles must have evolved from amphibians. Amphibians live on water and land, meaning that they evolved into the land and water reptiles we know today.
Now you're thinking, "we get it! Amphibians or eggs!" Well you would be right, but what do you think the answer is? If we go "deeper" so to speak, fish would be the next step down. Fully in the water. But, what comes after?
Fish or egg? Well egg, right? But what's the next step down from fish? What created the fish egg? Small shrimp probably were created from microscopic organisms. But what created those? It really is an endless cycle.
