The outside world was a blurry mess. The sounds of the city being pounded by the rain were muffled by the thick walls that separated the base from the outside world. The only light came from the Fire Moth base, which flickered and casted an eerie light on everything in it.
The sun was darkly clouded, just like your mind.
You sit in your chair, scrolling through your phone and your head is spinning with negative thoughts.
I'm constantly getting pulled down by my own foolishness. Why did I ever agree to the challenge? You thought.
The fact that he now knows how foolish you are just makes it all the more frustrating.
Security and trust was built the moment you first worked together. You swore you wouldn't destruct this relationship. No touching out of disrespect, no teasing, no flirting, and no staring. Those are mere distractions.
"Good morning, Y/N," a familiar voice said.
He's already here! "...Morning, Su." A yummy scent fills your nose. Chocolate?
"I brought you Mocha, your favorite," Su forwards the bottle to you.
"Thank you," you took the Mocha. Everything would be fine as long as I pretend nothing happened.
Su watched as your fingers brushed against his, the contact sending a shiver down his spine.
You placed the Mocha in your hands. The flavor is rich and potent. It's a delicious drink that will make you feel energetic and happy!
Perfect for a winter evening. Except that it's a summer morning seasoned with incessant rain.
He looked like he wanted to say something, but couldn't and assisted you with work anyway.
During evening break, Su would usually be around each other. But when he tried to talk to you, either you were too busy reading your phone snacking, or conversing with someone.
It was clear as a day that you were avoiding him. Su knew bringing up what happened last night between you and him would be uncomfortable for you.
Of course, you couldn't bottle this up forever and think the water will disappear eventually. No, the water would be poisoned because its been bottled up for too long. Your chest tightens whenever the doctor's eyes droop every time you turn away from him.
Y/N, if you truly love him, you should commit. If you don't, your claim of 'real love' isn't real at all.

7:29 PM.
Meet me here at 7:30 PM. You wrote on a note.
"I assume she's almost here," Su mused as he dropped your handwritten note on his desk.
The door to Su's workplace opens with a small click. You arrived with a casual 'hey' from your lips.
His gaze softens on you. He asked if you were okay. You seemed more quieter than usual to him.
"...Do I look okay?"
"You look fine," The doctor said. "Was there something you wanted to speak to me about?"
You turned away from him, ears pink. "Yesterday I was doing a challenge with my friends... whoever lost had to call their crush."
Su felt heat spread through his chest. Often he hoped you liked him. But you had always been so reserved and distant that he would've never known in a million years you actually liked him until yesterday.
You gazed intently into his fuchsia eyes. "I'm sorry for lashing out in the call and ignored you earlier. I'm such an idiot!"
"...Y/N, its okay–"
"You didn't have to hear me ramble endlessly like a toddler."
"There's nothing to be apologizing for," Su held your shoulder. "Sure, you slipped something I wasn't supposed to hear. But that doesn't make you an idiot."
You can feel the warmth of his hand on your shoulder. The touch made you even more self-conscious than before.
You pushed away his hand and folded your arms. "Even if you say that, it doesn't erase the sheer embarrassment last night." Sighing, you blurt out. "You don't like me."
Su could certainly prove you wrong about that. He leaned forward to brush a kiss against your cheek, his warm hand made its way back on your shoulder.
"Who said I didn't like you?"Su asked. You felt your cheeks hot under his gaze.
"...You really like me, Su?" You held your breath the moment he held the side of your jaw.
"Yes." His lips close the gap and press into yours. So sweet. His mouth is warm and smelled of fresh mint.
As your arms gently wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer, his hands rubbed behind your back, tracing circles. Kissing Su was better than how you imagined it. The tingling on your skin nudged you that this was real.
He began to pull away, but you tugged him back, wanting more of his intoxicating kisses. He was so mesmerizing. Su relented, and your lips danced with his once more.
