Queen Amory scans the new scenery with her curious blue eyes. She is very fascinated with the farmland and canals that they pass on the road. Even though they had them back in Akkad, the ones in Kish look nice with the bright colors of the pomegranate trees. She was nervous, but also very excited about moving to Kish. They were moving because they had taken over Kish and wanted to be closer to Sumer. Her husband, King Sargon, was sitting next to her with a bored expression on his face making his pale lips look quite funny. Sargon always got bored with carriage rides, whether they were long or short, because there wasn't much action.
The carriage turns on the twisting road making the gold detailing gleam in the sun. Amory is intrigued by the village that splays before her. The buildings are the same color as the sand that flies in the wind. The buildings lead up to a beautiful palace which is carved elaborately to make a spectacular design. The carriage stops and Amory steps out of the carriage. She glances at Sargon who was walking in a bit of a zig-zag making his ashy, mid length hair sway with his movement. It is like he was a little dizzy, but Amory was thinking it was probably from the long ride they had gone through today.
A man with dark blue eyes turns his hard gaze in our direction. Amory recognizes him as Sargon's head general Adolph, because of his large scar across his tan face.
"Welcome, Your Majesties," Adolph greets, with a very formal sounding voice.
"A-Adolph, how's the strategies we've been working on going?"
"They're almost done," the well built man replies. " We could discuss them if you'd like, possibly over some beer?"
This is very interesting to Amory. She enjoys solving problems, she often thinks of how good of a time she'd have if she got to sit in on strategy meetings. Sometimes she'd overhear Sargon talking with his generals, and she'd make solutions to the problem up in her head. Amory kept her mouth shut, knowing that it would be frowned upon if she made her interest known.
"Ah! Your friend, Jacob was it, he offered me one this morning. You know I've been feeling quite funny all day, I suppose I should have another."
"Yes, a few drinks usually help when I'm feeling off." Adolph replies with a mischievous smirk on his face, causing Amory to get uncomfortable. From what Amory knew, Adolph was someone to be afraid of. He was known for coming up with some rather cruel strategies.
"Well I'm off to bed," Amory states, quickly heading into the castle. She got a servant to help her find her chambers and then quickly went to her room. Amory felt quite tired after the long day of traveling and was glad they were finally in Kish. After brushing her long brown hair and taking off her simple traveling dress from that day, she changed into her luxurious purple silk nightdress. With that all done she climbed into bed and fell asleep instantly.
