Chapter 1

      Blessing in disguise 

I wiped my tears as I walked out of the hospital. Pre-grief hits like a bitch.

“Oh my god..” I hear Stas mumble under her breath as she runs up to me. 

“How is she doing?..” Stas asks in concern. I just shake my head, hiding the tears in my eyes. 

I feel Stas lift up my chin to look at her.

“You know it's okay to cry, right?” I nod softly. “I haven't been able to stop crying since my mom got diagnosed with cancer, she doesn’t even remember who I am!” I say while I break down in tears as Stas helps me in the car. She wipes my tears away with her thumb. “I know.. I know.. But me and the rest of the roommates are gonna be by your side no matter what!” Stas reassures me as she starts to drive us away. I look outside my window at the bright LA sun as the California breeze slips through the window as I open it. I take out my sunglasses from my purse and slip them a little under the bridge of my small nose. As I stared out the window I started to get lost in my thoughts. Maybe Stas is right.. I should try to look at the brighter side! Maybe I should try to make new friends? Or just relax, for once at least. 

“Chloe!” I snap out of my little daydreaming and look at Stas who is snapping her fingers in front of my face.

“Sorry.” I reply “We are home girly!” Stas says. I look up and see our house. Damn this shit is huge I think to myself every time. I have 2 other roommates besides Stas. It’s me, Stas, Stacy, and Luna. I take the sunglasses off my face as I step out of the car and close the door behind me. 

About 30 minutes later I pause the tv and look up at my roommates.

“Those damn neighbors!” I mumble under my breath. “All I know is that there's a group of a few boys that live there and one girl I think,” Stacy says. “That makes sense,” I roll my eyes and reply. “4 man?..” I say as we all burst out in laughter. “Sadly no.. you're the only single one Chlo..” Luna pats my shoulder as I put up a peace sign and fake cry, making us all laugh harder. “Wanna go tanning?” I ask. 

“I mean sure, or do you just wanna look fine for the hot neighbors?~” Stas gives me a little wink as I roll my eyes playfully at her comment. I run upstairs and change into a little purple bikini and leave my long blonde wavy hair down.

1 hour later all the girls fell asleep when I decided to stand up and stretch. Shit.. were out of sunscreen! I walk over to the fence and climb up it a little as I peek my head over as 4 boys look up at me. There were actually 6 boys. One was kinda emo, he was really hot.. I could feel my cheeks turn red as I looked in his direction, his eyes were crystal blue. I got lost staring in his eyes for a second when I snapped out of it. 

“Oh.. um hey! I live in the house behind you and I'm tanning with my roommates and I ran out of sunscreen.. Do you by chance have any?..” I ask with a bright smile running across my face. There was a guy with a short beard who looked older than the rest but they were all definitely over 18. The guy with the beard was holding a camera and put it down. “Yeah we do.. Sorry we thought you were a crazy fan, Oh and my name's Etlon, This is Corey.” He said pointing at the guy with a man bun and a baby face. “This is Sam,” pointing to the cute blonde boy. I mean he's definitely attractive but not my type. “That's Jake and That's Aaron.” He said pointing to the guy with purple hair and the other dirty blonde guy. “And this is Colby,” Elton said, pointing to Colby. I had an eyebrow raised. “Fans?”  

“Oh yeah.. We're youtubers!” Sam replied. “Is that why it's always so loud?” I ask while giggling a little. The guys nod back at me. Jake and Aaron went inside and I looked at my hands really hot from the burning metal fence and shook them a little, still climbed halfway up the fence. “Come over to our side and hang with us!” Elton said. “Alright!” I climbed some more and put one of my legs over and was sitting at the top. I was at least 6 feet high and looked down seeing the fence on their side was all spiked. “Sorry.. Fans can get really crazy,” 

Colby ran over and reached his arms up grabbing my waist, lifting me up off the top of the fence and putting me down. My eyes widened as I heard that. “Damn how popular are you?” I asked. Colby looked down at me and smiled “Holy hell you're tiny!” and I felt my cheeks burn up. I was barely as tall as his chest. “Me and Sam have a duo channel with 11.4 million. We each have our own personal channels too with a few million each,” My mouth drops open “Wait i've heard of you! I've seen a million edits of you guys on tik tok! How did I not know I was neighbors with Sam and Colby?!” The boys laugh and I begin to laugh with them as Elton throws me the sunscreen bottle. “Thank you” I say with a smile. “Anytime!” He replied. I turned around to see all 3 of my roommates' heads peek up. “These are my roommates! Stas, Stacy, and Luna,” I say “You guys wanna hang with us?” Elton asks. “Yeah sure, wait.. Are you Sam and Colby? And Elton from TFIL!?” Stas asks. “Yup!” Sam replies while chuckling. The girls are a good amount taller than me and could jump down without getting spiked. “We are having a party on Friday if you guys wanna come? Wait, you're over 21 right?” Colby asks. “We're all 21 and 22, we graduated college and moved in together, and yes we would love to!” I replied. I gave Colby my number and then put my phone on the table when I felt hands around my waist and I looked to see Colby with me in his arms running towards the pool “COLBYYYY!!”
