2am. Again.
Leafy greens put her face in her hands as she flicked her phone flashlight on. She was in her shared dorm room in the middle of the night. The faint glow of her phone revealed a girl with vibrant green hair and dark green eyes stumbling across the small room that served as both a kitchen and living room.
In the unnerving light, you couldn't quite make out the deep bags on her otherwise perfect face.people would always compliment her on her appearance; she took the praise humbly, not knowing what to do with compliments such as those but being kind nonetheless.
Leafy always tried to make the people around her happy (Although sometimes she lost her patience with them) , she believed there weren't enough good people in the world and she hoped to make up for that fact.
Even though helping people was a nice change of pace for staying awake all night. She pushed the thoughts away, slowly but carefully approaching the medicine cabinet.
This had been happening for a long time, sleep troubles and all. Nothing seemed to explain it; she went to bed but found herself unable to rest. She'd been to countless doctors each with their own suggestions. Unfortunately almost none of it seemed to work. She was always tired but never did seem to sleep.
Leafy pushed open the window to the cabinet, cool metal grazing her hand, and began shifting through sticky notes and bottles. Her face tilted into a frown as her hand didn't seem to reach the desired item. After more searching, she finally did seem find what she was looking for as her hand slowly brought out a small translucent plastic bottle.
She allowed a sigh of relief as she quickly popped the lid to the plastic, revealing a rather large pill. She stood up, pill in hand, to the sink where she swallowed it with water. These pills were seemingly the only thing that allowed her to finally rest. Leafy didn't quite remember where or when she got them from, only that they worked like a charm.
She tiptoed to the cabinet to replace the medicine , waiting for the pill to work its magic. She didn't want to make any loud noises to wake her roommate, Loser. How very lucky she was to share a dorm room with the most popular kid at her college, she thought dully.
She yawned, covering her mouth in attempt to stifle it. Her hair fell in front of her face, and she didn't bother to wipe it away. The pill was working.
She stumbled into her dark room, tripping on something she couldn't make out. She fell asleep as soon as she hit the floor.

That face,,,
Red...
Hers?
But... different. Wrong...?
Something , glinting,
Metal?...
Her hair, red, big eyes.
No, not her...
R-rig..ht?
Hazy,,
Leafy...
LeaFY...
"LEAFY?"
Leafy blinked open her eyes. She wa son the floor of her room. She could see her mirror from her undignified 'bed' on the floor. She could also see some pasty-white shoes in front of her.
Oh, she thought, those shoes belong to someone.
"Ah! Loser! Hi!" She mumbled, raising herself from where she had slept. She blushed, embarrassed, at the concerned face staring up at her. Leafy was taller than Loser, even only by a couple of inches. His very light orange-white hair was pulled back from his face, revealing an undeniably cute 18-year old with slightly tanned skin.
Leafy muttered to herself, avoiding his gaze. "Are you... alright?" She inhaled nervously and pushed her neon hair from her eyes. Loser was genuinely concerned for the girl's health, as he'd just walked into her room in the morning finding her limp body sprawled out on the floor. "Uhm... Leafy?" He said in his raspy voice. Leafy jumped in surprise, being snapped back to reality.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine...! Don't worry about me!" Loser didn't take the response in much satisfaction, however, because he tilted his head in confusion. "What were you doing sleeping on the floor?" Leary's head immediately started making up possible excuses. If Loser found out about the strong pills, he would surely take them away.
If they were taken away, she wouldn't be able to sleep. Her mind raced. She couldn't let that happen. "Oh! It's actually a funny story. I went to get a... midnight snack but tripped on the way ack to my room. It was really dark.I probably hit my head on the bedpost." She rubbed her head to make it seem more believable. "Must've passed out!" She finished, adding a shaky sigh.
"Sorry if I scared you." She added, who was now considering hesitantly. Looser looked at her, seemingly into her soul. "I'm sorry! That must've been scary! I saw you on the floor and assumed the worst...! Is your head okay?" Leafy exhaled a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. "My head's fine now. A bit of a headache, though."
She glanced around her room. Her dresser stood tall right in front of her single bed, the bed itself covered in green and light blue hearts. The anime posters nd pictures of her many friends lined the walls. A night side table lay ominously between her bed and a poster-covered wall. The table was overflowing with miscellaneous junk she hadn't bothered to pout away on her shelves. There was a tiny study desk with a closed laptop and scattered pens and pencils. She didn't have a window; she'd let Loser have the window room when they first moved in.
It was pretty messy, the whole place. She hadn't the time nor energy to tidy up, so this was how it stayed. Loser seemed to notice this. He glanced at the chaotic excuse of a room. "You should get some ice on that." He added, pointing to where the injury supposedly was.
Leafy focused her attention to the boy in front of her. "Yeah, I'll do that after I clean myself up," she rambled, pushing Loser out of her room. He might've said something else, but Leafy shut the door, silencing him.
Leafy leaned gingerly against the door, shutting her eyes tight and sniffing in a deep breath. She glanced below her feet for the item she'd tripped and fell on last night.
Maybe I should clean this room up, she thought, now on her hands and knees sifting angrily through piles of paper that the item might be hidden under. It's getting to the point where it's kinda dangerous... "ow!"
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her leg, making her inhale sharply in immediate reaction.
She turned and grabbed the item that had cut her.
Lifting up a discarded paper, she found a Knife.
