PROLOGUE

–We have been informed, Clarissa, that the Moore's son is soon embarking on a month-long cruise vacation –Victoria revealed, her tone being a mixture of suppressed satisfaction and urgency, on the other end on the line– This is the perfect opportunity to corner him, extract information that will shatter the Moore family and their technological empire. 

–What do you need me to do, Mother? – Clarissa asked, steel entering her voice. She wouldn't let her family down, even if it meant embracing treacherous tactics.

Her mother's voice softened, filled with careful instructions. –  Clarissa, my dear, you hold the key to our victory. You must gain Hunter Moore's trust and make him reveal crucial information that will compromise the Moore family. 

Her heart sank. Coaxing the truth out of a man as cunning as Hunter Moore seemed an insurmountable task. Yet, she understood the necessity and the consequences that lurked if she failed.

–There's more, my dear, – Victoria continued– While you work your way into Hunter's confidence, you must also uncover the false accusation that the Moore family made against ours. The alleged tax fraud. Find solid evidence, something that will expose them as the charlatans they truly are.

She absorbed her mother's request, her determination bubbling within her veins. To bring down the Moore family and clear her own, she would risk it all.

– I understand, mother. I won't fail our family – Clarissa vowed, her voice steady.
