"i said real love, is like feeling no fear, when your standing in the face of danger"

ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ꜰᴏᴜʀ - ᴀ ᴘʀᴏᴍɪꜱᴇ

UP THE STAIRS, they made their way. After a cup of tea and a recollection of herself, Maisie, Lockwood and Lucy were walking towards the danger. Her mind wandered up the old wooden stairs and to the furthest door, the energy she was sensing as her feet touched the steps was growing immensely. Her hand finding her head as she held it in pain, the growing sensation proving to be painful, her eyes closed and her breathing staggered.

Lockwood, noticing her discomfort, gently grabbed her hand, pulling it from her face and holding it in his. His calming energy instantly improving her state. She looked down to their conjoined hands, tightening her grip as her eyes locked with his. His eyes were so soft, inviting, comforting, she could stare into them forever, getting swallowed in the storm of his mind.

With their hands still joined, their footsteps could be heard heading further up the stairs, their torches shinning the way. "It stopped," Lucy abruptly stated, noticing the pair that had their hands conjoined. "As soon as I stepped onto the landing, It knows were here." Maisie listened, feeling it get colder as soon as she stepped foot on the landing.

"Temperatures dropping." As if Lockwood read her mind he spoke, his voice low.

"Torches off, I need to tune in," Lucy politely demanded.

"Pick a door, any door," Lucy and Maisie looked at each other after hearing Lockwood. After silently agreeing on a door.

"The furthest," Lucy whispered.

"Why?"

"Because its the scariest, and I can feel it." Maisie responded to his question, her eyes finding his as she looked up at him, he nodded.

The furthest door was opened by Lockwood, all three walking inside. Lucy stated it was an office as they looked around, but the energy Maisie could feel, flowing through her veins like musical notes, she could sense it was more than that. This room had the emotions of death staring into her soul.

"I can feel it, this is where the source is," Lucy spoke, looking to Maisie, "You can feel it too, right, Maze?" She questioned. Maisie just nodded, the emotions she felt just from standing on wooden floors were clouding her thoughts so fiercely she couldn't speak. Seeing the two girls become overwhelmed, he squeezed Maisie's hand.
