Where did it all go wrong? You're tired.  You haven't eaten in a few days. You haven't drunken clean water in a few days. You're out of breath. You're injured from falling down a steep hill. They're getting closer. And closer. They're gonna bite you. Infect you. You're gonna die. This isn't how you want to die. Run. You have to run. Your vision is blurring. But you have to keep running, keep going. For him. All for him. You made a promise that you would survive. You can't even cry, you're so dehydrated that you can barley produce liquid in you're system. Just keep running. There's so many. 10? 20? 30? 50. 50 of them. All in one herd. Run. Run. Run.

You woke up to your alarm blasting in your ear. That's what you get for keeping your phone right next to your face. How else would you hear the alarm? You groaned as you rolled out of bed. You yawned and stretched as you sluggishly walked to your window to open the curtains to let some light in. You looked outside the window. It was a really nice day out. It was the begging of summer so it's been pretty hot outside these past few days. Blue skies, sun shining, kids playing outside at such an early hour. You smiled softly. You liked the little neighborhood you lived in. It was a small community but it was comforting. The people you talked to mostly lived in the same apartment complex as you or in the apartment complex across the street.  You moved away from your window and started getting ready for work. You worked as a nurse at the local hospital downtown. You showered and brushed your teeth, got dressed in your black scrubs since the baby blue ones were dirty. You did a bit of your makeup and tied your hair up. You packed you're bag with you're lunch, car keys, charger, phone, and extra clothes to change out of for after work. Once ready you stepped out of your room and walked down the hall and knocked on the last door at the end of the hallway. "Takuma! Are you ready?" You asked as you waited for a response. "Yeah! I'm just putting on some cologne!" You heard the males voice from the room. Takuma ino. He was your brother. Older brother. You two decided to get an apartment complex together, correction... Takuma decided for you two to get a place together because he thought the neighborhood was sketchy and he wanted to protect you. Despite you being 20 and him only being 3 years older than you, he still saw you as a kid. He acted like some badass now because he was a cop. More like a rookie cop but hey, at least he gets to have a gun. "Will you hurry up?" You looked down at your phone hoping you were still on track with time. "Hey, I gotta smell good once I drop you off at the hospital. All the cute nurses will be all over me, sis." You almost threw up in your mouth. He was terrible with women. Finally he came out of his room, the smell of his cologne immediately hitting your nostrils. You rolled your eyes and you walked to the front door to put on your shoes. "None of the nurses want you, Takuma. Maybe the older nurses will think you're cute... yeah, the granny nurses maybe."  You teased as you finished putting on your shoes. "Hey!" Takuma stood next to you put on his shoes as well. Soon both of you were out of the house and you walked to his car and drove off. He always drove you to the hospital since the police station he was positioned in was just two streets down from the hospital. As you two drove you turned on the radio since his aux wasn't working. You flipped through the radio, trying to find something to listen to but all that was being broadcasted was the news. You rolled your eyes and turned the radio off. After some driving you guys were two traffic lights away from the hospital, that's when you saw a bunch of ambulances rushing from the hospital. First it was two, then 4, then 6, then cop cars followed behind, then 4 more ambulances. They sped past you two towards the opposite direction. "Gonna have to clock in to see what's going on" Takuma said as he drove once the light turned green. You nodded and soon you made it to the hospital. "Thanks Takuma.. are you gonna go check out the commotion? If you are.. be careful okay?" You hugged him and he smiled softly as he hugged you back. "I'll be careful I promise. You be careful too, lots of crazy people in hospitals." You laughed and nodded as you got out of his car and waved him goodbye as you walked into the hospital building. You walked into the break room where you have to clock in, noticing how extremely packed the hospital was once you walked in.
