"SAM!", the blonde's voice echoes through the room, as she's brought out of her deep sleep with cold numbing water being splashed on her face. As the blonde faces her best friend who is still on the floor gasping for air with laughter, she can't help but smile.

"I'm sorry, I had to get my payback one last time, and revenge from last week when you scared me and I dropped my cereal everywhere." The older striker confessed. "You also had to tell Guro about it. She hasn't stopped making fun of me since."

Karter couldn't help but laugh feeling sadness start to consume her. She had to say goodbye to her best friend.

Of course the two would still see each other at national camps with the Matilda's, but it wouldn't be the same considering they have been inseparable living together for the past two years of Karters time at Chelsea.

When Barcelona Femeni approached her about signing a 3 year long deal, the striker couldn't refuse the offer, especially since her contract with Chelsea was pretty much up. It felt like a dream when Jonathan Giraldez first tried to get in contact with the young striker, telling her about her potential and future she could have with joining a team like Barcelona.

Plus who would turn down Barca?

Karter was yet to sign the official contract with Barcelona yet and would take that step tomorrow, but everything else was sorted. The new apartment and car were being supplied by the club to support their international and local players.

As reality starts to set in, the two players made their way to Sam's car which was already packed with the small suitcase Karter would be taking with her as she would buy most of the stuff she needed to set up her new apartment in Barcelona.

The girls had to stop at their favourite coffee shop on last time together on the way. After thst the trip to the airport went quickly, as it was filled with loud music mostly consisting of One Direction (who were 'Karters everything' according to all of the girls) and awful singing. It was just as if it were any average day with the pair making their way to the Chelsea training grounds.

The two made their way through London airport, Sam slowly trailing behind trying to find any excuse to somehow make her bestfriend miss the flight in hopes of her staying.

Approaching the gate she was filled with three very familiar faces clearly waiting for them. "Took you long enough" mumbled one of the girls. "You can thank Sammy for that, the way she was waddling back there you'd think she was a penguin." Karter replies, making the older girl roll her eyes and the others all laughing.

"You were really going to leave without saying a proper goodbye?" Guro questions quietly sadness written all over her face. Without giving the girl a second to reply she had wrapped her arms tightly around the other girl. Soon Millie, Erin and Sam all join in turning Karter into a sandwich, but who was she to complain. She would miss her closest friends dearly.

"We are really going to miss you Greyson, and your crappy pranks." The English defender Millie, was the first to step away from the deathly tight hug.

"Yeah, remember us when you are taking over Spain and you are their new queen,"

"She could never take that title of the real La Reina, no one can beat her, she's perfect," Sam says with a hint of sadness, rolling her eyes. The striker has always been jealous of the Spanish girl, Alexia Putellas. Considering she has come out second best in everything thanks to her.

Great, she was reminded of the Spanish legend.

Of course Karter felt honoured to be able to play alongside Alexia and all of the other talent in the Spanish team, but a new wave of nerves came crashing through and doubt started flooded her mind.

Would she be up to their standards?

Was she good enough to play with them?

"No need to get jealous Sammy, you will always be my number one and first in my eyes." Karter says winking at her friend.

"Now boarding London to Barcelona"

With one last hug being exchanged the girls all said their goodbyes and just like that the fifth member of their group had left.

After checking on her small suitcase full of personal belongings, she found her seat, (luckily in first class) and once again reality was starting to set in. She would be playing in quite possibly the best women's team in the world.

Karter was extremely nervous.

The blonde sat, plugging in her headphones to listen to music. Karter Greyson-Jones, was known for many things but if you asked someone who really knew the girl, what was one thing she couldn't live without, it would be music.

Music was her escape from the world. Blocking all loud thoughts that clouded her mind on the daily. She didn't know how to describe it to anyone else but it felt like music was the only thing that truly understood the girl, the only thing she could truly rely on. As her many doubts were echoing around, she could simply put headphones on and enter a different world.

That's why Karter was always listening to music, because she needed an escape from this hard cruel world.

Memories started flicking through the young girl's head reflecting on her football journey so far. Her Matilda's debut at 18 alongside  one of her closest friends Kyra Cooney-Cross, as they had been playing in the Melbourne Victory Women's A-League team together for 3 years beforehand. Then finally getting her Chelsea call up at 19. Both Chelsea and the Matildas squad felt like a family for the young girl, all welcoming her in with open arms. Hopefully the girls at Barca would be the same.

Hopefully.

After gathering her belongings and exiting the terminal, the blonde was surprised with the weather. Obviously feeling hotter than the London temp but being fine with it because of the Australian heat conditioning. The girl suddenly comes to a stop when she sees an older woman smiling and waving towards her direction."Hola, Ms Greyson-Jones!" The friendly voice says gesturing for her to come over.

"Hello", the young girl nervously smiles, approaching the much shorter woman. Karter was quickly brought into a tight embrace, catching her very off guard. The blonde blushing at the sudden surprise.

"I am Olga, I am with Barca's training program and will be taking you to your new apartment or helping you with anything you need of course!"

"It's lovely to meet you, thank you." The two converse as they start heading towards the womans black suv.

"Not a problem at all, I am honoured honestly. The way Jona keeps talking about our new recruit, you may just be the new best thing." The older woman tries to explain.

The two get into the car after putting the luggage into the boot. "Please don't be a murderer, I haven't even met any hot Spanish chicks here yet." Karter very softly spoke to herself.

The car trip to the apartment was rather quick and filled many interesting conversations about each other's lives, the two hit it off straight away. The journey was also filled with lots of admiration as they travelled through the beautiful city.

Boy was Karter lucky to be here and it was only the beginning.
