His wife stares at both of them in a state of utter shock and disbelief. The idea of her husband having an affair with a student is absurd. A tear begins to trickle down her cheek as she watches both him and Cairo. He finally notices his wife stood there. "No, no, no, this isn't what it looks like Sarah." His wife is still in disbelief at the sight of them both standing so close to each other, it looks very much like the sight of an affair. Her eyes look over to Cairo as if to seek answers from her as to whether this was true or not. Her heart is broken and she is feeling extremely vulnerable in this situation. She is about to run off, thinking that this truly is an affair, when she looks back towards him one last time, waiting to hear him speak. God where did he start "She thinks that because she's top of my class and I've trusted her to write a short story she could try and be suggestive however she doesn't like my outcome on the story she wrote and that's why she's doing this." Sarah takes a few seconds to process his words. She seems to believe him and is still a little bit on edge but she has come to the conclusion that their relationship is not an affair after all.
