Colton was hurt by his sister not liking him anymore and as much as he didn't want to admit it he missed her. His sister and her reactions to his pranks, smart ass remarks, and even sometimes occasionally when she would prank him back he missed it all. Now his days consisted of waking up and getting ready for school then walking a block to the bus stop and waiting at first it felt nice but soon he felt lonely and depressed no prank he did could help.
One morning Colton woke up and went downstairs "Hey Kace can you drive me to school I promise no pranks and I won't say anything mean I'll shut up I promise." Kace really wanted to say yes but if Sam found out he would be mad and yell at her he never hit her but he always made it seem like he was going to "No Colton you'll just play a prank on me later if I do it's not worth it the bus is fine." It hurt Kace to see Colton's face after that she felt so bad about it just a neutral expression but it said everything she needed to know. Colton always had a smile even if it was a mischief one so to see him without a huge or even slight smile broke her in half she didn't want to live like this anymore.
Colton finished getting ready for school and went to the bus stop he just sat there and waited he was upset and depressed he hadn't pranked her in months but that wasn't the worst part he barely saw his sister's face. He never thought she looked good but knowing she was alive and well meant he could ruin it and when he thought about it it made him feel worse for the pranks.
After a depressing school day Colton decided to make a vow to never play a prank on his sister again maybe just maybe she'll take him to school one last time. After school when he got home Kace was leaving with Sam "WAIT" Colton yelled Sam gave him a look " beat it." Sam said. Kace heard this and was not happy "yes Colton what's up?" Kace said in the kindest voice ever this slightly threw Colton off what's gotten into her what's happened that made her feel the need to be nice to him? "Can I talk to you for a second?" He asked Sam looked at him "no kid now b-" "absolutely." Kace interrupted Sam for the first time ever this was a shocking to Sam he thought his girlfriend could never. Kace walked over to her little brother he brought her to the other side of the car " can you please drive me to school tomorrow pretty please I promise I'll never play a prank again," tears started to fill Colton's eyes and Kace knew this wasn't right Colton never cried that's just not him ,"please I -I promise." Kace hugged him "No Colton you can take the bus but I'll think about it for next week." Kace loved her brother but she also loved Sam and wasn't ready to make a choice between the two of them.
When she came back around the car Sam looked furious he opened the door for Kace and when she got in he slammed it shut. "Why did you talk to him? I don't want you talking to any boy except me!" Sam said with obvious anger in his voice "He's my little brother I've known him my entire life I cant just give him up I'm all he has left my mom and dad don't pay attention to him he needs me you don't understand." She replied with a slight crying sound to her voice "No I understand but you can't talk to any boy except me just me ONLY ME GOT IT?" He acted like he owned her this was the first time Kace felt like blowing up on him she could deal with no friends, no parties, no texting without permission, and much more of Sam's rules but not with her little brother she knew how much he counted on her and even if she hated showing it to others she was willing to do anything for him.
