- Chapter 12 -

"So how are you feeling?" Noor said as she was leaning at the doorframe observing Cillian who was getting ready for the court session. He was struggling with his tie "fuck." he sighed deeply.
" Lemme help you with it." she offered helping him adjusting his tie.

" Thank you." he muttered.

" Cillian I know it's hard it's ok to feel sad though. You don't need to hide your feelings not infront of me." she said stroking his shoulders over the white shirt to comfort him.

" it's a lifetime, Noor. twenty years and two kids."
" I know. how did the kids take it?."

Cillian told her that Katherine and him sat with the kids, told them about the divorce with the help of children care counselor yesterday.

He shook his head  " they didn't believe it. They thought it was movie game I'm doing some acting role along with their mother.. God the look they had given me Noor.." he rubbed his eyes to wipe the tears away " That look on their faces was the reason I wasn't telling em about the separation. the look that I wanted to avoid that's why I went on with that marriage."

Noor couldn't help not feeling guilty towards his kids. What if she hadn't shown up in Cillian's life they would have chance to have their parents together, yes they applied to divorce before she entered the picture but they could back on it anytime with kids involved but now everything was complicated and she was part of making it that.

She swallowed all these thoughts, today wasn't about her insecurities and doubts it was about Cillian and about her being there for him like he was supporting her mentally so many times in the last months.

" Yeah yup I'd be there in time." Cillian
said before he hung up, he spun towards Noor "it's the lawyer I've to go baby. I still can drop you to college still have time tho."

" no it's ok. just call me if you need anything." He approached her cupping her face and kissed her goodbye.

Cillian was standing outside the court with his lawyer and assistant when he spotted Katherine proceeded towards them along with her lawyer. They shake hands all together. " So Miss Jones , we're planning to release a divorce statement after the session ends, here's the draft if you wanna add or delete anything." his assistant said heading peace of paper to Katherine's lawyer.

" wow that soon ha." Katherine said with obvious scoffing tone before she looked at Cillian " Can I have a word with you...alone." Cillian nodded walking away with her before she stopped him, holding his hands " Cill, I know what I had done was wrong and I'm so sorry I told you million times and will keep saying it. don't you think I deserve second chance, we deserve a second chance."

"  Katherine.." he shook his head

" For the sake of our kids Cillian."

" Don't bring the kids into this."

" No I will Cillian- I will, they need us both of us..together."

" Parents together with broken relationship isn't healthy for kids. you weren't happy in this marriage Kat, if you were happy you wouldn't..anyway." he pulled his hands away from hers.

" Is that about the new girlfriend?" he turned to her question.

" Look let's not sign these divorce papers and you could have time off with her, if this what you want it's ok."

He looked astounded at what he had just heard " Jesus Katherine what do you think I am? an asshole? a jerk?."

" Mr. Murphy , Miss Jones it's time." his lawyer said , waving for them to come.
