"Come on, I want to show you the new flowers Mommy grew in her garden!"

Two young girls run through the garden behind the Meyer estate, eager to view the new collection of flowers that had been planted and blooming. The two hold hands as they run, giggling and not a care in the world of everyday struggles and worries. When they reach the flowers they crouch down, looking at the brightly coloured blossoms in amazement.

"Look, Chi-chi!" One girl exclaims as she points at a patch of purple flowers. "Bellflowers!"

The other girl, who was much taller than the first, takes a closer look at the Bell Flower, her eyes gleaming. "It's so pretty..." she nearly whispered.

The first girl smiles as she kneels in the grass. "Mommy says Bell Flowers are a symbol of every lasting love." The girl pauses. "I wonder if she planted these flowers because she loves us..." she then grins. "Well, I love her too! And you, Chi-chi! I will always love you!"

Chi-Chi stares at the flower for what feels like a long time for a five-year-old girl. Her eyes were full of wonder, and she was much more thoughtful and mature than others. She then looks to her friend and reaches out to take her friend's hand as a slight flush fills her cheeks and her expression becomes serious. "Amy... when I grow up... I want to marry you."

Amy looks over to her friend, surprised. "You do?"

Chi-Chi nods, then stands up. She grips at the skirt of her dress, trying to hide her sudden nervousness. "When I am a grown-up, I want you to be my wife. And I promise to always love you and take care of you."

Amy stands up as well, tilting her head as she watches her friend stammer her confession. Then she smiles brightly. "Do you promise?"

Chi-chi nods, determined. "Yes!"

Amy walks up to her friend and takes her hand again. "Then you better keep it!"

Chi-chi blinks and it takes her a second to realize that Amy is accepting her confession and proposal. She looks around. "Um... oh!" She picks one of the Bell Flowers and holds it out to Amy, her face more flushed. "I promise, and this flower is proof of my promise."

Amy takes the flower and holds it delicately in both her hands. Her smile beams at Chi-chi. "Thank you, Chi-chi. I can't wait to be your wife one day."

Dawn spreads its morning light over the Meyer manor, the servants inside in a busy hustle during their morning routine.

Amelie Meyer, daughter of the Grand High Councilman Argus Meyer and Lady Sylphia Meyer, was just awakening as one of the household maids came to her room. She sits up, stretching her arms and stifling a yawn. "Morning, Lilica."

Lilica smiles at Amelie, readying a bowl of water for Amelie to wash her face. "Good morning, my lady. I hope you slept well."

Amelie crawled out of her bed and glanced to her bedside table, where a pressed Bell Flower was sitting as a souvenir. "I slept alright," she says. "but I had that dream again. The one with the girl proposing to me."

Lilica finishes preparing the bowl of water and looks at Amelie. "You seem to be having that one a lot recently." She steps out of the way as Amelie walks over to wash her face and next goes to find Amelie a change of clothes for the day.

Amelie splashes her face with the cool water and breathes in deeply as she begins to wake up more. She grabs the towel that Lilica had left for her and dries her face next before speaking. "I've been having the same dream, several nights a week, since the fall of Wall Maria. Maybe it is because I know the girl in my dream was there... if only I could have gone to the refugee camps to find her. To see if she was still alive..."
