Ming opened the door to find Tyler standing on the other side, looking a bit nervous. "Tyler, what brings you here? Mei's not home," Ming said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Tyler shifted nervously, "Oh, I just came by to see if Mei wanted to hang out. Do you know when she'll be back?"
Ming narrowed her eyes, "She's at her friend Miriam's house, working on a school project. But that's not important right now." She stepped aside, gesturing for Tyler to come in. "You can wait for her here if you want."
Tyler nodded, stepping inside. Ming led him to the living room and gestured for him to take a seat on the couch. She turned to head to the kitchen, then stopped and turned back to Tyler. "Tyler, I need to talk to you about something," she said, her voice low and serious.
Tyler looked up at her, a hint of fear in his eyes. "What is it, Ming?"
Ming took a step closer to Tyler, towering over him. "I've noticed that you and Mei have been spending a lot of time together lately," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Tyler swallowed hard, his eyes darting back and forth. "Yeah, we're good friends."
Ming leaned in closer, her face mere inches from Tyler's. "That's not what I mean. I've seen the way you look at her, Tyler. And I don't like it," she said, her voice barely audible.
Tyler's eyes widened in surprise, but he didn't say anything.
Ming stood up straight, her arms still crossed over her chest. "I won't have you hurting my daughter," she said, her voice firm.
Tyler nodded, looking up at Ming with a mixture of fear and respect. "I would never hurt Mei. I care about her a lot," he said, his voice steady.
Ming studied Tyler's face for a moment, then nodded. "I'm glad to hear that. But I'll be watching you, Tyler. Don't forget that," she said, her voice low.
Tyler nodded again, looking down at the ground. "Okay, I understand. I'll be careful," he mumbled.
Ming nodded, then turned and headed to the kitchen to make Tyler some tea. She returned a few minutes later, setting the tea down in front of Tyler. "Drink up," she said, her voice softening a bit.
Tyler looked up at Ming, a hint of gratitude in his eyes. "Thank you, Ming," he said, taking a sip of the tea.
Ming took a seat in the armchair across from Tyler, her eyes never leaving him. She watched as Tyler finished his tea, her mind racing with thoughts of her daughter and the boy sitting in front of her.
As Tyler finished his tea, he turned to Ming with a confident smile. "Ming, I know you don't like me spending time with Mei, but I really care about her. And I think you're a pretty great mom too," he said, his voice smooth and sincere.
Ming raised an eyebrow, surprised by Tyler's sudden charm offensive. "Go on," she said, her voice wary.
Tyler leaned forward, his eyes sparkling. "I was wondering if you would consider letting me take Mei out on a date. Just a nice dinner, maybe a movie. I promise I'll take good care of her," he said, his voice soft and earnest.
Ming hesitated, unsure of what to do. On the one hand, she didn't want Mei to get hurt. But on the other hand, Tyler seemed genuinely interested in her daughter. And maybe it was time for her to let go of some of her overbearing tendencies.
As she considered Tyler's proposal, Ming felt a sudden surge of desire run through her body. She stood up from her chair, her movements slow and deliberate. "Tyler, I'll tell you what," she said, her voice low and sultry. "I'll consider your proposal. But first, I have something to show you."
