chapter 10 - confrontation

The entire dormitory goes completely silent for a few seconds as you suddenly step out of the kitchen and scream at hyunjin in front of everyone. Almost all of the boys are in the living room.

"You seriously want to know the things you did wrong..?"

Everybody now seems to be quite nervous.

"Yes, Hyunjin. Please!"

You're not sure if you should get ready for him to shout at you or sit down to have a nice conversation, but as you look at him again you come to the conclusion that it is probably the first one.

You see hyunjin's eyes become super sharp as he's looking at you in pure anger right now. From his perspective you're embarrassing him infront of everyone.

"Is it really that hard to tell?! you really dont recall anything at all huh? Not even the slightest things you said?"

You try to go back in your mind but you don't even know to what time he is referring. You tilt your head and let your eyes trail away from his face. You wait and create an uncomfortable silence. You really have no idea so you hope he will just tell you himself soon.

Hyunjin realizes that his method of trying to get you to remember by just yelling at you without saying anything specific isnt working at all. He then sighs in frustration and decides to list out the exact things you did that bothered him.

"You have insulted my acting, I have heard you insult my rap skills, I have heard you say how I'm a terrible dancer in front of my friends, you insulted my appearance as well, I have heard you calling me a narcissist too."

You have heard rumors that someone with a simular name to yours had been spreading back when he was a trainee. Suddenly you realize he must've thought you were her. He must've kept it to him all this time but snapped when THE INCEDENT happened. You finally realized: That must be it! You're quite relieved about this whole thing being a big misunderstanding and you got Hyunjin to explain the situation now. However, Hyunjin still seems quite angry as he continues listing out these insults.

"You also have said i'm a self-centered person that just uses others for his own gain in life, you also called me many different names just to ruin my reputation and to make other people not like me too. The worst of all must definitely be that you tried to keep me from debuting."

"Hyunjin please listen to me I can explain-" I try to start but he bluntly cuts me off.

"Don't even try to deny these things! you can't possibly expect me to forget all these horrible things you said about me, do you?!"

"Hyunjin it wasn't me! Really!" Hyunjin scoffs. He clearly doesn't belive you.

He's just not listening to you anymore as he walks closer towards you now. You feel yourself backing away slightly as he comes closer.

"You really need to stop being such an ignorant person and just admit that you said these things. Stop denying it and just be truthful."

"Hyunjin maybe you should come down first. You two should talk this out later." Chan says again.

You internally thank Chan for saying this. Hyunjin can be really scary.

Chan's words seem to make hyunjin freeze up quite a bit now and he's now looking straight at chan instead of you. He's very clearly still angry but he now starts to listen to what chan is telling him.

"You need to understand what I've been through because of her. She almsot ruined my entire life. You cant just tell me not to be upset about this."

"Hyunjin, let's try to get out of here and we'll talk about this more privately later ok?"

Hyunjin agrees. Apparently, Chan texted the staff that there were complications at the dorms, and they had to cancel dance practise when he was standing next to you and Hyunjin in the kitchen.

[YOUR POV]

Chan and Hyunjin went in Chans room. Felix, Seungmin and Changbin stayed in the living room. I felt overwhelmed and went to my room. Minho, Han and Jeongin were never there to begin with.

Someone knocked on my door not too soon after.

I'm unsure of what to expect now. I think of a few different possible outcomes of what could happen if I open the door.

1. Hyuniin could yell at me again.
2. Chan could've came to hear my side of what happened.
3. Hyunjin could actually come to apologise.
4. I could apologise to Hyunjin immediately after opening the door so Hyunjin doesn't yell at me again.
5. Changbin could be here to make fun of me again.
6. Han or Minho could be standing there to ask what happened.
...
At this point I decide if I wait any longer it's going to be awkward no matter who it is.

"Umm come in"

After I opened the door I see Jeongin standing in front of me and he has a very worried look on his face.

"I was wondering if you were alright.."

I smile at his kindness. I ask him to come in and sit on my bed with me like we did last night.

Jeongin walks in and seems a bit more relaxed than he did before. He walks over to my bed and sits down next to me.

I tilt my head in a concerned manner "Are you sure you're fine with me telling you all these things? I don't want you to worry."

Jeongin smiles warmly at me. It's his baby-bread-smile and he nods while smiling. It immediately reassures me even though he didn't say anything yet.

"Don't worry about it. I'm completely fine with listening to whatever you have to tell me and i wont judge you for it either."

He seems so honest. He's such a sweetheart. I know that if I talk with someone this way it should probably be a standard but hearing the other person say it out loud is a feeling nothing else can give you.

I smile back at him and tell him everything.

After explaining everything to him I ask Jeongin for advice on how I should talk to Hyunjin now. I'm well aware that I should talk with him again. This time in a proper manner preferably. So I ask Jeongin how I could communicate that I'm not the person who spread those rumors about Hyunjin.

Jeongin ruffles through his hair and sucks his lips in while thinking about it before talking.

"Honestly the best thing to do is to just wait. he will calm down and think about everything but right now he's just mad. You shouldnt say a single word against him in the meantime though until he gets back to his senses. Maybe we should do more things together as a group so he gets used to you?"
