Chapter 1

It was the first day of senior year and I was kind of nervous.There were some new people in our class and I was excited to meet them.This was my last year ever in school and I didn't know what to think about that.I am nervous that when I finish school,I will be welcomed to adulthood.Adulthood kind of scares me,but that is something to think on in the future.

As I was walking down the hallway,I bumped into a hard chest.I lifted my eyes and I saw my enemy.I didn't even bother to say sorry,but he started talking to me."Hey sweetheart,you should be more careful,you know?"he said and smirked.God I hate him for calling me pet names and always smirking at me."Just leave me alone,Xavier."I rolled my eyes and tried to walk away,but he grabbed my arm.

"And where do you think you are going?"he took my program and noticed that I have chemistry."Xavier,please just leave me alone.I don't want to be late from the first day of school."I rolled my eyes and tried to escape from his grip,but his grip tightened."Oh poor girl,it is going to ruin your reputation of Miss perfect."Xavier said in a sarcastic tone and looked me up and down.

Suddenly,the bell rang and that means that the class is beginning and I am about 10 minutes away from the chemistry's lab."Xavier,just let me go.I am sorry for bumping into you and shit,but please I don't want to be late."I explained in a worried tone because if I spend more time with him,I will skip most of the class.I didn't like chemistry that much,but I wasn't going to skip so I can spend time bickering with him.

"Did I just hear a sorry from Madelins Sparks?"he was surprised by my actions and smirked.I simply rolled my eyes and used the oppourtunity to escape from his grip.He is focused on some girl walking down the hallway,so I silently walk away and went to class.

I got inside the room and the whole class stares at me."Madeline,why are you late?"the teacher asked."Sorry,I got lost halfway.It will never happen again,I promise."I promised and glanced around the room.As,I was looking at everyone my eyes land on a certain boy.He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes.He noticed me staring and flashed me a smile.I smiled back at him and I heard the teacher clearing her throat.

"Okay,I hope so.There is only one seat left,so go sit next to Alec,the new boy."I looked at him and he smiled shyly.I slowly walked over to him and sat down."Hey!My name is Madeline,but you can call me Mads or whatever."I whispered and gave him a warm smile.The boy looked at me and his eyes are majestic and I could stare at them forever."Alec.It is nice to meet you"he answered back and returned the smile.

As the class went by,I decided to doodle something because I wasn't really paying attention anyway.I settled on drawing a cat because that's one of my favourite animals.As I was doodling,Alec leaned in so he can take a sneak peak."You draw amazing."he whispered and the ends of his ears turned slightly pink.

I looked at him,but failed to hold eye contact.."Oh that's nothing really,but thank you."The bell ringed and everyone gathered their belongings.I started to walk out the class,but suddenly a hand took a hold of my arm and turned me to look at the person.

It was Alec."Hey,I am sorry for stopping you midway,but can I get your number?"Alec asked and I could see that he was slightly nervous."Sure."I grinned and gave him my phone so he could write down his number.I did the same."Great.See you"Alec said and turned to walk away.

I exited the classroom and of course I bumped into someone.I looked up and unfortunately it was Xavier."Oh,hey Madeline!That's the second time you're bumping into me.You should be more careful,you know."he said and smirked.I rolled my eyes."Well,it is not my fault that you always go to opposite way of mine."

I snapped,already annoyed."Anyway,who is that boy that you gave your number to?"Xavier asked and to my surprise I noticed jealousy swirling in his eyes?Why would he be jealous of a boy giving me his number?"It is none of your business,so now if you could please move your giant body away from me,so I can walk away.It would be great if you do."I was clearly annoyed by the whole encounter so I wanted to walk away as soon as I could.
