CHAPTER 2

12/10/23

The flames engulf us all. my body feels frozen in place as I stare in dismay

The entire congregation is in pure turmoil

All that is left are chaos, trauma, and blood. Blood on my hands, arms, torso, EVERYWHERE I stand there loud and heaving in pure silence. My eyes dart around, and despite the atrocious sight, my attention shifted toward a vague figure draped in pure Darkness. I clamp my eyes shut refusing this reality

This can't be real ...

This isn't real...

I open my eyes, It's a bright and lovely day. I'm sitting outside... I must've dozed off. I glance up, staring at the dancing leaves reveal the sun from time to time three days ago I finally decided to read the book I found at the rundown church

It speaks about this strange creature that is Neither an angel nor a demon, the Adventures it has, the things it sees. What it stands for, Its beliefs. It's written in Hermeneutics, riddles but the meanings run on a theory of interpretation.

The pages have faint drawings that look like scribbles I don't know exactly what that is about

I rub my fingers on the page to feel the ink and the bumps of the writing as my mind goes completely blank

-BELLS BEGIN TO CHIME-

I look up at the bell and close the book " ugh.. Theology this is gonna be a long day." as I get up a slight grumble takes over my stomach, it grows and grows until it brings a sharp pain which makes me stop in my tracks and cup my stomach

" ugh..." My stomach has been feeling out of wack lately and if it's not my stomach it's something else, My dreams. I've been noticing this dark figure who just began to appear here and there, sometimes it appears at the corner of my eye in real life... Let's not worry about it too much. Maybe I ate something wrong...I hurry on towards my class not trying to waste time

-LUNCH-

The halls become boisterous with chatter, A thick aroma full of different foods floods the halls. I'm with my usual group barely listening to them talk as my attention is deep in my novel

"MAGNUS JONES!"

I look up to see Elias and his hazel eyes piercing my soul. for a quick second there I was left dumbfounded feeling a slight rise in temperature in my abdomen But I quickly caught myself and answered
" Huh!? "

Elias scoffs a Bit seemingly laughing at the fact This isn't the first time He has seen me face-deep in a book during lunch. He reiterates.

" Did ya hear, there's gonna be some visitors tomorrow "

The grin he has grows into a wide smile as his attention darts between Donnis and Alphus

"Really? Uhh..Well... from where" I replied, glancing at them all.
