Unwanted Attraction vs. Hotel Room

You were sure of two things. You hated Arny, the pompous, egotistical ass, almost as much as you hated yourself for being attracted to that obnoxious brat. You had to share a room, a tiny room, on this stupid field trip, and you had to share a bed with the man-child because there weren't enough beds in the hotel, as if that wasn't humiliating enough. He was asleep and the bed was barely big enough for both of you, so you were practically cuddling. The only thing keeping you from actually cuddling was the wall you had built out of pillows.

Every time you closed your eyes, you could smell him. That damned cologne. The scent filled the small room, overpowering, and nauseating, making it unable to focus enough to sleep. Every muscle of yours was tense from the constant effort to hold back from throwing him out of bed and onto the floor where he would be less of a nuisance. You tossed and turned and wished you were anywhere else but here. As you lay awake in bed, you realize how much you hated this situation. You hated the way you were forced to share a bed with him, how close you were, how he had no idea how strongly you felt. Your heart would race at the slightest touch of from him, and you hated how much you wanted his touch. And you hated yourself for it, knowing how shitty he was and still wanting him.

You push yourself from the bed, feeling Arny stir next to you. Your heart pounded in your ears as you slipped on some shoes and grabbed a book, trying your best not to awaken the sleeping bastard beside you. You slowly and carefully opened the door, stepping out into the hallway and shutting the door behind you quietly. Once in the corridor, you leaned against the wall. This was all bullshit, this whole trip was bullshit.

Third Person POV

Due to a commotion from a couple of drunk individuals, Arny's eyes fly open and his brain registers a few moments later. He goes to look over at Y/N and realizes she's gone. His eyes dart looking for any sign of her. Where the fuck did she go? Why kind of stupid, arrogant, stuck-up bitch leaves in the middle of the night? A crazy one that's who. Arny rolls his eyes and slips on a shirt and some shoes. He can't believe he's wasting his sleep time to look for her. He reaches the lobby and scans the area. He panics when he doesn't see her, but then he catches her out of his peripheral vision, sitting in a chair with a book in her hand. He is overwhelmed with anger that she disappeared without leaving any hint of where she may have gone. Before he has a chance to speak, she catches his eye and holds his gaze, her face revealing nothing.  As he stepped in front of her, he was filled with relief and irritation all at once. He stalked right up to her, trying his best to ignore how good she looked in those shorts and t-shirt, and stared her down.

"What do you think you're doing?" he says, his voice raised.

"Reading. What does it look like?" She snaps right back, glaring at him.

"Disappearing like that, not saying anything, that's so dangerous! What would you've done if something had happened? You can't just disappear like that, you could have gotten lost or hurt or God knows what! Why did you just get up and leave like that without saying anything?"

"Oh, because you care about me. Is that it? You are concerned about me, you're worried about what could've happened to me?" She mocks, rolling her eyes. "You expect me to believe that you just care about my well-being after the way you constantly treat me? Do you think I'm a toddler or something? I can take care of myself."

"That's not the point! You can't just go walking out alone when you're not used to this area without at least saying where you are going!"

Y/N huffs. "Okay, Dad. Sorry, I didn't check in with you and ask permission to leave our room. Is it okay with you if I get something to drink? Do I have to ask permission for that too?"

"Of, for God's sake." He scoffs, rolling his eyes. "You're missing the point and you know it! You were gone at 3 a.m., and you just walked out without saying anything! It's the principle of the thing, you can't just do whatever you want. What if something happened? What if you got lost somehow, or what if you got hurt? Don't you understand how worried I would have been?"

Y/N frowns, her arms still crossed."Why? Why would you be worried about me? You barely even know me, we hate each other for god's sake. Why would you care if something happened to me?"

"Look, I..." He trails off, not sure how to explain himself. It was obvious he was uncomfortable with this conversation, but he felt it needed to be had. "Can we just go back to the room, and we'll finish this conversation? Please?"

Y/N nods and follows Arny back into the room and plops down on the sofa. He stands before her and paces back and forth, thinking of what to say to her. "So? What do you have to say to me? Why are you acting like this because I think you're overreacting."

As he paces, his thoughts start racing. He is suddenly struck with a realization. He stops at the end of the room, a frown on his face as he looks at her and the bed behind her. "Because..." he trails off, looking off into space with a deep frown. He swallows hard and he slowly turns back to her, "... Because I think I'm in love with you."
