8 months later..

Gray's pleas echoed through her mind

Carmen woke up with a jolt, she was facing the nightmare again, of the day she killed gray..

, tears stained her face and pillow. "Mija?" Said her mother, Carlotta Valdez. Carlotta looked just like her, except for the eyes, Carmen had her father's eyes..

"Are you ok love ?"

"Yes" I said with a trembling voice "I'm fine-"

but I wasn't, and she could see that. I wasn't able to hide it any longer, and I broke into hysterical sobs.

"I killed him mama, I killed Gray.. My best friend..I hate myself. I don't even deserve to live anymore.."

Carlotta sat down next to her daughter, and said with a smile "you weren't yourself that day love, it wasn't you, we both know you would never kill him. You- You loved Gray.. I know in my heart that You would never hurt anyone, ever. Are you comfortable talking about it ?" Carmen didn't reply, but looked up at her mother. "Sometimes it can help to open up to someone."

Carmen felt worse, now that she realised that she loved Gray, and now she would never have a chance to tell him how she felt.

"It's time I tell you everything mama, no secrets."

"I had lived at vile island for as long as I could remember, I grew up not knowing my name, I was codenamed "black sheep". Vile was a school for thieves. And while I was there, I made friends with Gray."her voice trembled with guilt as she said his name

"We were both inseparable at school, But one day,I found out I had failed. I wasn't gonna graduate with my best friend. I snuck off on the first caper with them.

But, I realised that I didn't have a parachute. Gray was still on the helicopter and I jumped off with him.

He told me to stay put, away from the mission. But I couldn't keep quiet anymore when I heard someone say something Terrible 'Leave No Witnesses'

Gray was ready to end the innocent man who was wounded and could not escape from the scene. I ran and stood in front of him, and said that Gray would have to get rid of me first.

About a year later I escaped from VILE Island and dedicated my life to ending them.

I had to fight so hard and go through crazy injuries, but in the end it was worth it to see them behind bars."

I ended my explanation, on the verge of tears, I was shaking, but my mother's presence instantly made me feel better. She tucked me in and sat beside me for the rest of the night. It felt weird to be treated like a child, but,  just for now, it was okay. I didn't mind as long as I had my mother next to me..
