"why are you guys actual psychopaths," nicks jaw drops, "like this is actually fucking crazy."

hayden leans on matt, still hungover from the night before, "can you lower your voice?"

"no because like i said- YOU GUYS ARE PSYCHOPATHS"

she feels chris's eyes burn into her as matt places an arm around her shoulder, not understanding why.

chris clears his throat, "whatever. it's not like we like each other. we just both benefit from being in a relationship."

"wow chris," hayden fake gasps in shock, moving to grab the orange juice, "you might've actually sounded smart for once,"

"wait so-" matt shakes his head, "lemme understand. you," he points to hayden, "don't like him. and you," he points to his brother, "don't like her?"

"like him? right. i can hardly look at him without throwing up." hayden scoffs, laughing as chris elbows her in the ribs

sure, the two have been having slightly more positive interactions recently, but they still know that they hate each other so much.

they could never actually like each other.

"shit you really fucking hate elena." nick snorts, finding the whole situation hilarious

"speaking of this whole thing," chris turns to zola, "you need to come to my game tonight. elena always did it, and she always got dressed up."

she sighs heavily, "fine. you have to come up to me after, she'll shit her pants."

matt's mind is blown, not sure how any of this is possible.

"so wait," he walks up to hayden, throwing an arm around her shoulder as he looks down on her, "we can get tacobell for breakfast then?"

chris and nick exchange a look, now knowing this new information about matt.

"he really asked you to be his girlfriend last night?" maddy shrieks, her head jerking to look at her best friend

"yep." hayden lies, although she feels bad about it.

she doesn't like lying to her best friend, but the less people that know, the realer it seems.

"ok, and once he sees you looking this hot, he'll so ask you to homecoming." maddy gushes

she snorts, before regaining her composure, "i mean, it's really new so i don't know if homecoming will happen."

homecoming would feel too real, and honestly her last two were with christian, so she did not feel the need to go with a guy again.
