My first idea was to talk to him. What can go wrong with talking? After getting to know him a bit, I'd get him to like me. Soon after, I'll confess!

"Jae Bum oppa! I need to tell you something!" I said. He looked at me and smiled.

"What is it Mae?" He asked. I blushed.

"I... Like you..." I confessed. He looked at me and leaned in.

"I... Like... You... Too..." His hand reached my face as he got closer and closer until he finally...-

"GOO MAE RI!!!!!" My dad called. I sighed.

"What?!" I yelled back.

"Cook! Right now!" I huffed and ran downstairs.

"What do you want me to cook?" I asked. She shrugged.

"Anything you want." My mom beamed at me. My eyebrow cocked up in confusion. 'A little too happy, much?' I thought. I brushed it off, not thinking much about it.

I finished dinner in an hour and a half. Even though I'm an idiot, I know how to cook.

We finished dinner, but my mother wanted to talk to me. She was saying something about going to the hospital, and finding out something she didn't know. I wasn't listening until she said that she was saving up money.

"I've realized that you've done everything you could to make us happy, but for some crazy reason, we never were." She got out her purse and took out an envelope, sliding it towards me. "This is what I've been saving up for you." My eyes widened. "You've done so much for us, and this is the only way I can thank you."

"Honey..." My dad said, clearly shocked too. "Are you serious?!"

"Yes, I'm serious!!" She assured. He scoffed.

"That looks like a lot... How much is in here?!" He asked.

"200,000 USD."

"WHAT?!" We yelled in unison.

"It's how I can thank you," She took my hand. "To me, it isn't that much. I have plenty more, and it's not like I'm going to be using it."

"Are you sure about this, though??? I mean, it really means nothing to you?!" I questioned, not believing this is real.

"I'm positive. Tomorrow is your birthday, so consider this as a gift." She smiled, grazing her thumb on the back of my hand. "You can do whatever you want with this money. Maybe buy a car, contacts, a new wardrobe; anything."

"Thank you, mom. But, I think I'll be saving up for college. I won't be getting a scholarship anytime in my life." She laughed.

"Anything you want. Anything." She tapped my hand with her other and let it free. "Now, go get some rest. I'll do the dishes." I nodded.

"Okay."

I woke up the next day with a smile plastered on my face. My mother had been so nice to me yesterday, it felt like a dream. I looked at the envelope and sighed. 'I wonder what's up with her, though. She's probably possessed by a friendly demon.'
