The Prompt:
With the contestants having a break in another room of the building, everyone is given a slice of cake, a drink and a sandwich. Everyone eats their food and has their drink.
Now any powers your character had no longer work. However this is a temporary effect and all powers will resume at a later date. While your character is summoned to the stage again, they notice that a large audience has gathered.
The judges take to their seats and tell your character what the next challenge will be. Your character is getting their next task: a comedic routine.
The task is to make the audience laugh. How to do this is up to you - you can do a standup routine telling jokes, or you can use props that are made available on the stage.
The prop box contains:
A banana, fresh
A pair of joke glasses (fake nose and moustache attached)
A diaper (unused)
A box of marbles, colored
A rubber bandAn inflatable life-size doll of Elon Musk.
You can describe the reaction of the audience, but not the judges.
No additional characters
No powers
No saying what the judges say
No showing the judges reactions
No editing after submitting
No eating, attacking or violence of any kind towards the judges (in the prompts).-----------------------------------------------------
Darkness, the rush of air, contact with a smooth incline gradually evening out, and another unceremonial deposit onto a messy pile of cushions. Impossibly, Sunny was back in her waiting room.
The instruments were gone, but her backpack remained and in the center of the floor was a well-used cardboard box onto which was taped another khaki envelope containing another message:
Congratulations
SUNSHINE SPARKLE SUMMERS
on passing Round One of Fantasy's Got Talent.
Please prepare yourself for Round Two!The box contained an assortment of objects. She tried on the fake mustache glasses and threw them back, shook the box of marbles, and considered eating the banana before glancing at the desk. Someone had left her a piece of chocolate cake wrapped in cellophane, a bottle of water, and a turkey club with lettuce and tomato, neatly cut in two.
Sunny left the cake but finished half her sandwich and was just washing it down with a swig of water when a knock called her attention to the door. It swung open, but this time nobody was there, just a notecard lying on the floor in the familiar hallway.
Make them laugh.
There were no other instructions, but the inflatable Elon Musk doll at the bottom of the box now made a certain kind of sense.
She again followed the hall to the backstage door. There were people milling about performing stagehand duties, but there was also a vast murmur coming from somewhere ahead.
"Oh, there you are, dear," came the voice of Avise Ravenshaw from behind her. "I assume you know what you're going to do?"
"Make them laugh?" Sunny eyed the curtains before turning back to Ravenshaw. "Who are they?"
Miss Ravenshaw shot her a grin. "I wouldn't want to spoil it for you. I need to take my seat now, but you're on in," she raised her glasses to check her watch, "three minutes." Then she scampered ahead, pushing her way past the huge stage curtain.
