The Party

In life they tell us to live like we're dying.
But what if you found out you were never really alive.

Lilly read those first words of the book she was reading.
Damn she thought.
Sam wasn't kidding when she said this book messes with you.
Sam was Lilly's best friend.
Sam's mom was Lilly's mom's best friend.
They were also neighbors.
So they grew up together And basically did everything together.

It was their senior year of highschool. And school was about to start.
Lilly was both excited and nervous at the same time. Knowing this was her last year as a kid. Knowing she'll never get that time back.
When Sam graduates she's gonna be going to college where? She doesn't even know yet.  But as for Lilly she doesn't plan on going to college. She never felt like it was for her.
Lilly's dream was to be a photographer. And to travel. And someday get married and have a family.
and she didn't feel like she needed to go to college for that.
Thankfully she had the support of her parents. Not having to worry about disappointing them made her decision so much easier.

                  Lilly's POV

My phone rang the caller ID said Sammy.
I smiled and answered. "What's up babe?"
"The sky" Sam replied holding back a laugh.
"Hahaha very funny." But seriously what's up?"
"Nothin I'm just bored
Are you doing anything important right now?"
"Well I'm reading the book you lent me how come?"
"Cause I was kinda hoping you'd want to go to a party with me" Sam replied.
"Who's house and what time?" I asked.
"It's at Connors at 7."
Connor was one of the guys on their school's basketball team and one of Lilly's best friends.
"I'm in sounds like fun."
Sam screeched on the other side saying "good cause I already told Connor we'd be there. Now Get your ass over here so we can get ready."
"Alright alright I'm on my way" I said while laughing.

Lilly and Sam weren't part of the popular crowd at school but they weren't nerds.
But everyone knew who they were.
Lilly was close with  the guys on the basketball team cause her brother used to play before he graduated.
Let's just say they all were really protective over her.
She felt bad for any guy who tried to date her.

I grapped my keys and stuff and headed downstairs.
When she came down the stairs her Dad was in the kitchen reading.

"Heyy dad I'm heading over to Sam's we're gonna get ready and go to Connors for a party."
Her dad looked up from his book and smiled.
"Okay have fun Lil.
Please be back at a decent hour or let me know if you just end up crashing at Sam's. And please be safe."
"I will dad I love you." I kissed him goodbye and headed out the door.
I crossed the yard over to Sams and went in thru the front door.
Sam's mom was in the Kitchen.
"Hi Susan is Sam upstairs?"
"Ohh hi sweetie yes she's in her room getting ready."
"Okay I'm gonna head up."I said while heading up the stairs.
"Alright please have Sam let me know when you girls are taking off."
"I will" I yelled down.
I opened the door to Sam's room. To be greeted by an empty room.
"Sam!" I called. "In here babe" she yelled from the closet.
She came out of the closet with a couple of outfits.
"This party is gonna be so fucking awesome" Sam said with a big smile.
I walked over to her bed to see a couple of outfits laid out.
She had a couple dresses.
And some shorts and jeans and some crop tops.
"I think I found the perfect outfit"
Sam said holding a cute white crop top with light blue jean shorts And a belt. "Well I hope so cause you emptied the whole closet."  "Haha" Sam said sarcastically.

"Go ahead and see if you can find something you like."
I already had my eye on a white crop top with a light blue jean jacket and black skinny jeans.
I grabbed them and went and went to the bathroom to change.

I came out of the bathroom to see Sam in front of her mirror doing her makeup.
I walked over and put on some light makeup. I didn't really feel like wearing any.
Once we finished with our makeup we did each others
Hair. Once we finished with that she walked over to her pile of shoes. And grabbed a pair of
Heeled sandals.
I debated on wearing heels but ended up just sticking to my converse. We're gonna be standing and dancing I wanted to be comfortable.

We were ready. I looked at the clock to see that it was going on 6:30 which left us with plenty of time to head over to Connors.

"Alright let's go" Sam said grabbing her keys and purse. We went downstairs and headed to the door.
"Mom we're leaving we'll be back at 11."
"Okay have fun girls." Sam's mom called. "And be safe."
" We will mom we love you." "Love you girls" too Susan yelled.

We got in Sam's car. ( A/N I couldn't really decide what car
So you can imagine whatever car you want:)

We both buckled in. She started the car and I plugged my phone in the aux.
Whenever she drove I was in charge of the music. Party in the USA came out of the speakers.
We sang a long as we drove to Connors.
Tonight was gonna be so much fun.

Well there's chapter one. I'm sorry it took so long to post. But I hope you all like it :) it's a little rough but it's my first story lol.
