Ray stood outside the massive gates of U.A. High, his yellow eyes scanning the towering structure.
He stuffed his hands in his pockets, his shadow writhing at his feet as if eager to escape. This wasn't his idea of a good time, but his parents had insisted.
He stepped inside, joining the flood of other applicants streaming toward the auditorium. The chatter was almost deafening, with excited voices bouncing off the walls. Ray moved silently through the crowd, his shadow curling protectively around his feet.
When he entered the auditorium, he found a seat near the back, away from the clusters of excited students. Present Mic stood at the front, grinning ear to ear, his voice already booming through the room.
Present Mic: "WELCOME TO U.A. HIGH! ARE YOU READY TO SHOW US WHAT YOU'RE MADE OF?!"
Ray winced, leaning back in his chair and letting out a slow sigh.
Ray: "We'll, I'm now deaf."
Present Mic continued, gesturing dramatically toward a large screen.
Ray: 'I feel like I should make a joke, but it's daunting me.'
Present Mic: "For today’s exam, you'll be taking on ROBOTS in a mock city! Each robot is worth points, 1, 2, or 3, depending on their difficulty. Take out as many as you can to rack up points. BUT BEWARE of the Zero-Pointer, it's big, bad, and won't give you a single point! GOT IT?!"
