Nightly Surprise

**(Clem pov)**

"What the fuck"

I yell out as I draw my knife out, my eyes quickly dart around for AJ, I quickly see him with Tenn,looking at me.

I'm without a second thought I ran towards him, noticing the fact I haven't heard another shot go off.

I get to AJ making sure he's ok, and look around seeing everyone now alert and looking around, a few in cover, Louis ran over to me and AJ, asking if we were alright,to which I replied, yeah.

We then heard the groans,

"Ah shit"

I hear Violet cuss out as a large group of Walker's starting approaching the gate.

I told James to stay back with the younger kids while we handled this, which he replied.

bunch of us grab our weapons as we push against the gate, several of us attempting the stab the Walkers through the bars without getting bit.

"We let them through,one at a Time"

I shouted out, as me and Louis stood in front, the others on each side opened the gate just enough for 2 of them to crawl through, the Rotten monsters looked at us and growled, their arms outreached, planning on grabbing and ripping us apart.

I stomped my foot into the closer Walker's knees,I heard the sound of a bone cracking and flesh tearing as it fell to it's knees, I raised my knife in the air and slammed it down into its skull, killing it. I looked over the see the other walker on the ground at the Louis slammed chairles into its skull, I still had no idea how that thing was still in one piece.

"Again"

I yelled as a few More slipped in, this is going to take a while.

We dispatched them as they came in, after doing this 3 or 4 times there were only about half a dozen left, I told them that we can handle the rest as everyone backed away from the gate and drew there weapons.

I saw Aasim using a piece of wood to knock a walker down and beaten it until it was dead

Violet jumped up and plunged her cleaver into the side of another walker's face, not quite killing it yet, so she pulled it out and with another slash, put it down for good.

Minerva used her height to her advantage and simply grabbed the walker by its neck and jammed her knife into its rotten eye, before tossing it to the side and repeating the process.

I again did the same tactic I always use by dropping the walker to its knees and plunging my knife into the top of its head.

Louis had bashed open the remaining Walker's head and the undead groans stopped, all that was left was a group of kids and over 2 dozen rotting corpses.

I immediately looked around and saw AJ, who was still with James, Willy and tenn. I breathed a sigh of relief as I asked if everyone was ok, my heart dropped as I could barely see violet hold her hand that was dripping blood, everyone looked towards her and I immediately assumed the worse.

"I just cut my hand"

she said to us. I say Ruby walked over to her and after a quick glimpse she reassured us it was just a cut, she sat violet down to start bandaging up her cut, we all breathed a sigh of relief.

"While I'm happy no One became supper tonight, what the hell happened" I heard Louis question.

I quickly say Willy had his head down

"Willy?" I asked in a questioning voice.

"What the fuck did you do"

I Heard violet say in a mean,questioning voice.

"I was just looking at one of the g-guns we found and it went off"

I heard him sheepish reply,

"You shouldn't play with guns, that gets people killed"

I heard AJ say to him, though it didn't surprise me.

We scolded him for his mistake and I had Louis go to retrieve and put the gun back in the area we stored them, most of them we're kept in the basement, but we had a few available for quickly grabbing.

We tried to all sit down for dinner, while still highly alert, I sat next to Louis and AJ, as we ate the stew we normally had. The mood was a bit awkward considering what had just happened so we mostly stayed silent. I gave Louis a kiss before me and AJ went inside and I tried putting him to sleep.

"Willy's stupid,he could've gotten us killed" him say bitterly.

"Yeah, I know goofball"

"Why aren't the others kids like me"

I think to myself, for years it had been just me and AJ, he's had it a lot worse then them

"It's because, we've were ina. Different area goofball, things were harder for us" I say to him.

"We'll get to live here, right Clem?"

"Yes goofball, we have a home now, now let's get some sleep goofball"

"Ok, I love you clem"

"I Love you too goofball"

(Morning)

**(Louis pov)**

I could see it was still early, I groaned as I got out of bed, I decided I'd probably get some fresh air, so I got my coat on and walked outside. I felt the cold air breeze across my face, I always hated the cold. I could see violet on One of benches outside, she hadn't noticed me yet

I still felt bitter about what she did, but I still cared about her. I was scared last night that she had gotten bitten, like everyone else.

She was still My friend, still remember crying in my arms when we Lost Minnie and Sophie.I decided I didn't want to stay bitter. So I walked up and sat down with her.

"Yeah?" I heard her ask

"What are you doing?" I Asked

"Nothing" she replied

There was a long pause until she spoke again

"I'm sorry, for what I did, I'm sorry if I hurt you and I understood if you don't want to be friends anymore"

she said In a rare vulnerable tone.My heart ached hearing this,So I spoke.

"I forgive you"

I said to her, she looked at me surprised but also slightly Happy. I moved over and hugged her. I got then and after smiling at her I figured probably Best to get ready for the day, knowing that cleaning up the dead bodies would be a pain.

*Later*

I groaned as I started dragging the thing outside, I could feel the skin peeling off, I final got to the area where we dragged them out and dropped the extra dead body,

The smell of rotting flesh lingered around, by everyone was used to that. I walk back to drag another walker,as I pick it up by the arms I feel my fingers sink into its decayed flesh.

Thank god we still had some old gloves down in the basement, I said to myself, I looked over to see the other dragging the Bodies towards the pile we made, I looked over at Clem and smiled.

I walked over to her to discuss today's agenda.
