Destruction or Creation

As Cole woke up from his nightmare, Lloyd was sitting in the living room while staring at the glass of water in front of him. He didn't try to drink it since he was too busy thinking about Kai. His brother who protected him when things got tough. The brother who would do anything for his friends and family. The brother...who gave his life to try and save Ninjago from these invaders. 

"Kai..." he muttered while some tears collected in his eyes. He wished that he could have done something to save him. Even now, he had several sleepless nights remembering the events before and after his death. That wasn't the only thing that haunted him from that night, Lloyd remembered Nya's breakdown once she saw his arm. Her tears, screams and prays were still fresh in his mind and now he couldn't be in the same room as her. 

"Another sleepless night, Lloyd?" A voice said causing Lloyd to jump in surprise. After calming down, he turned his head and saw Cole. It almost made him think that maybe the others were up as well, but he quickly squashed those thoughts down. 

"Yes. It's just hard to sleep after..." Lloyd said before trailing off at the end. He could see Cole nearly panic at the mention of Kai's death. He knew that he also blamed himself about what happened. Not like he could blame him seeing how they split up to cover more ground. The others also felt guilty, but they try to hide it. 

"T..That's understandable. I was just going to relax before trying to sleep again." Cole stated. I knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep, but didn't call him out on it. After all, our morale has been decreased greatly due to Kai's death. We still try to save everyone from these enemies, but it isn't the same without everyone involved. 

"I see. How's Nya?" Lloyd asked. 

"She's...fine. Nya keeps asking about you and wants to reconnect with you." Cole said. 

"I..." Lloyd started to say before an alarm started to go off. Groaning, Cole and Lloyd quickly rushed to see what the issue was. At the same time, the spirit hugged itself as they listened for any movement. It wasn't easy trying to explore the castle especially since everyone could see what it looked like. They always tried to catch it, but never succeeded thanks to their reflexes. 

"If only, I could escape then...." The spirit said before a loud laugh boomed around it. At first, the spirit seemed confused before the voice finally spoke.

Escape? There is no escape for you. The ninja will fail and soon all of Ninjago will bow to the might of our lord.

"You can't underestimate the ninja. They will stop you and..." the spirit started to say again before it got cut off with more laughter.

Oh, really? The ninja will be able to stop his conquest?! What a laugh. Right now, they are struggling to stay together as a team due to the fire ninja's death. 

"The fire ninja's death has caused their morale to decrease?" The spirit said with a surprised voice.

You shouldn't be that surprised that this happened. After all, the ninja were trained as a team and when one member falls...the others will soon follow afterwards. 

"You're wrong. The ninja won't give up and will continue to fight with every bone in their bodies." The spirit said. 

I can't wait for reality to catch up with you as the world bends to our lord's will. Before I go, let me tell you that sooner or later...you will be forged into a being fit who will destroy everything in their path. 

With those parting words, the spirit was alone once more. Leaving it alone with the knowledge that the ninja were falling apart due to one death. At least, a death that they think had occurred. It was easy to think why they lost him since everything except a single arm had been taken. This fact only made the spirit more determined to figure out a way to get out of this place and tell the ninja the truth. 

"If only I knew where..." the spirit said as a prone figure twitched slightly on a heavily grounded room.
